What does the pound4pound mean?

Like when someone says a certain boxer is the best pound4pound boxer, what does that exactly mean?

If all boxers were the same size who would be the best.

Pound4pound is the best fighter in the world. It's not based on who you can beat. It's focused on consistency.

@Ray. Why are you comparing a Welterweight to a Heavyweight? You sound idiotic because you don't know your weight classes. Floyd mayweather is ( 5'8 '147 ). Wladimir is ( 6'7' 225 ). That is a 80 pound weight advantage. You forgot that Wladimir is not number one on anyones list. Floyd mayweather is number one on all of them. You don't know sh*t about boxing. The Klit sisters is fighting in a dead division with watered down champions.

The best p4p boxer is ranked above everyone else. He or she is placed their because of their accomplishments/dominance. For example, Floyd mayweather is the best p4p. He's a undefeated champion competing at the highest level.

The best boxer in the world is Wladimir Klitschko because he is the most prestigious heavyweight champion of the world.

With that said; Floyd Mayweather is a better boxer p4p.

Mayweather only weighs about 150lbs [almost 100lbs less then Klitschko] so there is no way Mayweather could beat Wladimir in a boxing match BUT Mayweather has accomplished more in his own weight divisions than anyone else has accomplished in their respective weight divisions, including Wladimir.

They're the best boxer regardless of the weight.
