Boxing: Was Golovkin being dishonest when he claimed not to feel Stevens power?

Did it appear to you he did or did not?

Max Kellerman said to Golovkin, "Did he shake you up with any of those shots he hit you with in the middle rounds?"

Golovkin replied, "No not serious"

To me this means that he is saying he felt the shots but they didn't trouble him, which would seem to follow how it looked during the fight.

I didn't think he was hurt at any point. There was a point where Stevens was opening up and landing clean, I think it was the sixth or fifth (?) maybe, and Golovkin started backing up and moving b/c of it.

I felt like it was more b/c he didn't like the situation and wanted to reset, not b/c he was hurt or worried about Stevens power.

Either way, he was getting hit clean and by a big hitter like Stevens, so I'm sure he felt it. GGG doesn't seem like the type of guy to ever admit he was hurt unless it was really, really obvious.

I am sure he got Buzzed as a former fighter we are taught to never admit to anyone not even our selves that we were hurt. I don't think he was being dishonest just following his roll as being a tough guy. I never saw him in real trouble but I did see a couple of body shots that he felt. You know what I really found strange was Stevens never really caught GGG with a good left hook or over hand right. He was catching him around the shoulders and missing badly . I was watching GGG he was not moving his head to get out the way of most of Stevens punches Stevens was just missing and missing badly. To be honest Sean G it looked to me that like Steven's was missing on purpose . I know that sounds really crazy but if you back and look at it you will see what I'm talking about. Watch Stevens corner man when he is talking to him he is looking at Stevens like what in the hell is wrong with you. I am not trying to take anything away from he fought a great fight something was wrong with Stevens. Look As many hooks as Stevens threw and that is his best punch he never landed it and GGG was not doing anything to get out of the way of it.Maybe Stevens is just garbage I don't know.

He ate some clean shots, but non with the left hook cause he was so continuous about that hook that he was open for other punches from Stevens. I dont think he was ever shook but his head snapped way back, but u can see they came prepared for that left and had all the answers for it.

Maybe if Stevens connected with one clean left hook, he would'v hurt Golovkin

it does sound like it would be dishonest cause stevens is a hard hitter, but then again golovkin spars with heavyweights because alot of sparring partners cant take his power.. so he might be used to getting hit hard by heavyweights

No, he got caught but didn't seem too troubled. He ate 'em and kept coming forward. Stevens did well though, I was surprised he lasted as long as he did after the KD in the 2nd

I never got the impression golovkin was ever hurt last night.

But I hear you, it sounds obnoxious to say you did'nt feel it at all.

No

Stevens never had him in trouble and Curtis was clearly outclassed as much as I like him

He was not terribly hurt by any one punch. But he felt them. Unless he's made of rubber. That's what they all say about big punchers and shake their head as if to say that didn't hurt. When they smile and shake their head means it hurt pretty bad.

GGG keeps his chin tucked. Like BHops; i doubt anyone can knock him out in middleweight.

Did it appear to you he did or did not?
