Who has had the better level of competition throughout their careers, Pacquiao or Mayweather?

I say Pac

Pacquiao, hands down. It's not even close. He destroyed Oscar when Oscar gave hell and even beat Mayweather in the eyes of many fans. That alone should tell you the story.

Pac in the lower divisions. At 126-130 Manny fought all the best guys and beat nearly all of them. I still rank his 11 round destruction of Barrera one of the most impressive wins ever.

Mayweather in the middle divisions. His resume at 147 is unmatched by anybody else today and he also has a tendency to fight guys alot bigger than him, especially when he fights at junior middleweight.

Pacquiao easliy.

I would say Pacquiao. Mainly because he does not pick his opponents and is willing to fight anyone. That is competition.

@nytwet

floyd fought a shot cotto, almost got beat by delahoya, never fought margarito even at cstchweight who is way bigger than canelo, bloat hatton at 147 whos best is at 140....

and dont lecture about catchweight, floyd catchweights canelo w/ stamina problems therefore drained the poor ginger intensionally...

and dont give me that pac-wont-fyt-canelo BS!, the present margarito can beat canelo w/ one eye...lol

Barrera, Bradley and Lebwada are Pacquiao's best wins. The others are flawed, I would throw Marquez in there too but he has never beat him decisively in 4 attempts but maybe he can change that in a 5th fight.

Pacquiao has better name value wins but if you actually look at the circumstances of those fighters besides the three I mentioned you will see that it's not as impressive as it seems on paper. It is true that Mayweather didn't fight the likes of Mosley and Oscar in their prime but he beat better versions of them than Pacquiao.

Pac fought and beat Barrera, Morales, Marquez, De la Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Bradley. These are all champions and future hall of famers, not to mention, tough fighters. That should answer the question easily.

Pacquiao definitely. And its definitely the reason Pac overshadows any accomplishment Floyd ever did in the ring. The pride of the Philippines is the greatest boxer this generation had seen. In hindsight, Floyd is the best boxer. That's why its a shame really to us fight fans that the greatest and the best did not square it off in the ring

Pacquiao beat more current and future hall of famers.

People also forget that while we dispute over who is better at 147lbs, because both practically beat the same greats; Pacman did more at flyweight, super batamweight, batamweight, etc etc.

Superfeatherweight is Floyds strongest division and no one can deny that Pacman beat more greats and hall of famers in that division.

I say Pac

Pacquiao of course. What kind of question that is? mayweather got away with gift decisions in 3 losses. He ducked every fighter who could beat him and he fights exclusively in the country his ancestors used to be slaves. He got nothing on Pacquiao

No May weather. Pac fought a drained Cotto, DLH, Margarito, and past his best Hatton. Mayweather defeated a healthy DLH at his natural weight, cotto at a non drained weight, and beat a prime hatton. DLHs fight with Pac was at 147 in which h he hadnt fought at in years. Cotto was drained at a catch weight of 145. Margarito was severely drained a catch weight of 150 fighting for a belt at 154. And don't give me that BS about them rehydrating 15 lbs. That don't mean sh*t. Losing so much weight damages your kidneys and is worse after you gain excessive weight. Besides would Pac get in the ring with Canelo at 152? Hell no he wouldn't. Besides pac couldn't ever beat Marquez without controversy.
