Who are the top 10 greatest fighters in history that weighed between 180-200 lbs?

Thumbs up to all three, Bundini, Teodor and I Shook Up The World, I am going to write my list without reading theirs, then compare the four.

1. Rocky Marciano, with a 68 inch reach and a walk around weight of around 170 Rock was perhaps the smallest great heavyweight of all time, his record and career need no elaboration.

2, Ezzard Charles, perhaps one of the top three or four light heavyweights of all time his heavyweight exploits elevate him to the elite status between 180 - 200.

3. Archie Moore, one of boxing's greatest KO artists, "The Mongoose" needs no further elaboration, his career also speaks for itself.

4. Sam Langford, for a man fought from lightweight to heavyweight, rated the 2nd greatest puncher of all time, perhaps the greatest fighter to never win a world title, Langford peaked at 185 and the then heavyweight champion Jack Johnson refused to fight him.

5. Evander Holyfield, the best cruiser weight in the history of that division, his exploits at heavyweight rate him in the top ten all time, he peaked at just under 200 lbs.

6, Georges Carpentier, fought from welterweight to heavyweight, one of history's great light heavyweights, he fell short against Dempsey and Tunney among the many greats he fought.

7. Michael Spinks, his defeat of Larry Holmes came at a time when Holmes was approaching Marciano's heavyweight record and Michael was moving up from light heavyweight to challenge Holmes, he weighed around 190 for the fight.

8. Bob Fitzsimmons, long before Roy Jones Jr. did it, Fitz earned Middleweight, Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight championships at a time when they were real "Championships" not just watered down "title belts".

9. Roy Jones Jr., perhaps the most physically talented and quickest boxer in the history of the sport, his foray into the heavyweight division up from middleweight puts Jones along side Fitzsimmons as one of history's ATG's

10. Billy Conn, while primarily a light heavyweight most of his career, Billy was one round away from defeating the great Joe Louis for the heavyweight title before allowing valor to surpass discretion and getting KOed on the bring of greatness.

Rocky Marciano

Evander Holyfield (as cruiserweight)

Bob Foster

Archie Moore

Roy Jones Jr.

Michael Spinks

Billy Conn

Ezzard Charles

Floyd Patterson (as light heavyweight)

James Toney

1. Ezzard Charles

2. Floyd Patterson

3. Bob Fitzsimmons

4. Michael Spinks

5. Evander Holyfield

6. Archie Moore

7. Billy Conn

8. Tommy Loughran

9. Bob Foster

10. Roy Jones/ James Toney

Roy Jones Jr. started out as middleweight but peaked at 175 lbs. and rarely does he weigh beyond 190 lbs in his best prime. James Toney also started out as middleweight but peaked at super middleweight and later at cruiserweight. He had some wins at heavyweight but by then he was already a bloated more than 200 pounder.

Honorable Mentions: Joey Maxim, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Dwight Muhammad Qawi, Gregorio Peralta

this is a little complicated cus guys like ali/frazier/louis ect all fought under 200lbs in their careers.i will just include the guys i think weighed 180-200 most of the time at either old school heavyweight or cruiserweight

1.jack dempsey

2.rocky marciano

3.ezzard charles

4.gene tunney

5.floyd patterson

6.evander holyfield

7.sam langford

8. jim corbet

9.carlos de leon

10.jonny nelson

bear in mind i'm ranking them for what they achieved at that weight.otherwise charles and holyfield would top the list.for the same reason guys like rjj, toney, conn, spinx ect don't make the list.

i hope i havn't missed anyone out.i'm sure johnson/louis ect weighed 200lb plus most of the time

nice question

i am only counting holyfields acheivements at cw

You could start with Rocky Marciano. I believe he was the Light Heavy Champion when he won the Heavy Weight crown.
