Who would win Canelo or Mayweather?

In my opinion, canelo would win. Yea mayweather is older, but canelo is an amazing fighter.

Well lets say the obvious, Canelo already made mistake number one by trying to get in the door to fight Mayweather and then trying to force his terms on the fight. That wont happen.

Two, its a minor leap in weight and I COMPLETELY agree with Stick and Move, there is no chance Canelo would win this. If they fought at a catch Canelo would kill himself trying to make weight and he is barely able to do twelve rounds at his own.

Trout exposed the fact that when he travelled, Canelo stopped punching until his feet set. Its a flaw of youthful fighters (and bad training, Cotto went thru it until he got shook out of it by a different trainer). The difference is Floyd can punch AND move, Trout's awkward style didnt allow him to. Canelo cant get his combinations off while you move around him laterally.

Weak arguement about Floyd cherry picking his fighters, you can always hear the Fanny Pac jump on here. So other than Margacheato, Floyd and Manny have fought virtually the same competition. The difference is when Manny does it, its a show of his excellence. When Floyd does it he is cherry picking shot fighters.

Here is how it will go: Floyd would sign the fight with Canelo. There would be all this hype that Canelo would win...at first. Then the closer it got to fight time, reality would creep in on the fans. THEN, it would be "Floyd Cherry picked Canelo cause he is young and inexperienced".

See?

Mayweather would school Canelo, possibly stop him.

I literally don't give Canelo much of a chance. Even though I'm a Floyd fan, I'm still being objective and just going off what I've seen from Alvarez and how it compares to a fight w/ Mayweather.

Think about it. Canelo could barely beat Trout, and he got gassed for no reason at all in that fight, as if he can't fight 12 rounds at an elite level type fight.

He either doesn't have the gas, or one of the bodyshots that Trout hit him with took a lot out of him. Trout is not a big puncher, so either Canelo has bad stamina or his body is fragile.

Canelo is slower than Mayweather, he tries to box and is decent at it I guess, but he can't play that sh*t against Floyd at all. Floyd won't get hit and dropped with any straight right hands from Alvarez like Trout did, b/c he's too aware and a genius defensively.

Alvarez is bigger, younger and hits harder. I can see why people could think he is a huge test for Mayweather, but I don't see it at all. HIs defense is extremely inferior and he gets hit easier than you'd think, plus durability and gas is a question still IMO.

Floyd has been there and done that against better opponents than Canelo, and I think this is another clinic on his part.

It's the fight I want to see though, by far the biggest that can be made and maybe the biggest in the sport at this point (since Pacquaio has lost two in a row, and got punched into a coma in his last fight).

You probably also said that Hatton was gonna beat Mayweather too, and Mosley, Cotto, Marquez I mean, Canelo is a very good fighter but so was De La Hoya. He's not 44-0 for no reason, he's the best in the world, there's no one that can beat him

Floyd ducked margarito, and he is willing to fight a bigger, talented canelo? i dont think so...

Most of us based our answer on how they really fight and their skill level, however i think stick and move realisticly correct...Floyd is a better fighter but he aint fighting canelo since canelo is too big...

So kalambre is correct, dont waste your time asking this question because floyd will never fight canelo...Not even close...And in reality, he aint schooling canelo alvarez...

Kanye... Don't waste time asking this question. Floyd would never fight Canelo. EVER....

U sound so dumb
