Why are people cheering Mayweather for winning when Alverez is only 23 years old?

Floyd Mayweather is nothing impressive. Of the fights I've seen of his over the last few years, he's a boring fighter who wins by running away. He has no problem hitting a woman but when he gets in the ring, he can't put up a real right. Just runs away. He's overrated highly, until he can beat Pacman.

You obviously are not an actual boxing fan- Your comment "facts" are incorrect. (1) Mayweather is not 33,he's 36.(2) Canelo has excellent trainers, how else would he have had 40+ bouts with 30 KO's and be previously undefeated? Alvarez was the underdog because of the LEVEL of competition both fighters had fought against. You forget that mayweather has fought and beaten TOP rated fighters before ( Manfredy, Corrales, Jesus Chavez, Castillo twice, Gatti, Sharmba Mitchell, Hatton, De La Hoya, Judah, Mosley, Cotto etc etc etc) He didn't "pick" his opponents based off of ability- he picked opponents based on marketability and payday projections. All the names I mentioned even CASUAL boxing fans would recognize and know Mayweather has beaten soundly MANY top rated, big name fighters. Saul on the other hand, has not. Canelo is young and he will fight again, but it will take him a while to get to the level Mayweather has been for years. Floyd schooled Alvarez...I guess you didn't watch the fight I was. Are you related to Cynthia J. Ross? lol

Alvarez is not a child. He said he was going to beat mayweather and went into a ring to hurt mayweather. He said he was the one and he probably knew deep down he was doing it for the big pay day and to be more noticed. He still has plenty of years to be prime but still mayweather deserves the credit he beats everyone put infront of him no matter what age they are. He's also 36 99% of boxers are declined by that age and are well past the top of their game, he's beating youthful powerful upcoming boxers.

You're in your physical prime at 23, don't gimme that sht.

If anything, being 13 years younger should have given him a huge advantage...that and 15 lbs. on your opponent, neither did him any good.

Canelo was hyped up to be the "next De La Hoya". I think he fckin sucks, and he'll probably now fade into obscurity. No one ever heard of him till now, and no one will ever hear from him again.

Alvarez was very impressive and mature for a 23 year old. Alvarez also had 2 of the 4 recognized belts at his division, so he was the best at 154lbs.

He 's old enough to cash his check and was an undefeated fighter. If Mayweather declined to fight him you'd accuse him of ducking him. Alvarez got roughed up, out worked and was severely outclassed. I'm sure it was heartbreaking for you, but get over it.

Because it doesn't matter who mayweather beats.. his fans love him no matter who he fights or ducks.

Floyd Mayweather has the unfair advantage of being 33 years old, having tens of millions of dollars and better trainers with his experience.

I just turned 20 and I feel for Canelo was undefeated for 44 professional fights at only 23 yrs old, isn't that enough?

Why is Hollywood being so fickle with their cheering Mayweather ("Money Team") on Twitter when Alverez the underdog to begin with?
