Probably cause of the lack of diversity in boxing, majority of fans are either Hispanics or African Americans cause there plenty of those fighters that both ethnics can relate to and go behind.
Even in other sports where Caucasians americans dont dominate, there are few at least where in boxing, theres not one Caucasian american title holder.
US is not like Canada or the UK where they can get behind a fighter with diffretnt ethnicity but same nationality (Amir Khan, Adonis Stevenson). Americans arent very nationalistic (or nationalists) as other countries
