Why do boxing fans seem to like big mouthed egomaniacs?

I agree with you and find it pathetic. It's got to the point now where it's not even just the boxers acting like scum and starting trouble...they've got their dads doing it now too. Respect to the guys like klitschkos who can act like gentlemen being faced with these idiots but there's no way in hell i would. I hope one of broners future opponents knocks him out cold where he stands next time he does crap.

Fact is, people are fundamentally stupid these days. Shows like big brother and x factor get more votes than general elections. Ignorant people are entertained by watching their own kind on tv and websites like world star hip hop etc and it's the same with sports I guess.

I dont wanna sound like I'm on my high horse or ranting too much, I'm a floyd fan, I had no problems with Haye and chisora giving the finger to the british board and boxing through luxemburg either, things like brawls are just part of the game when emotions are running high, but I do think it's all gone a bit too far these days and guys like broner and angel Garcia are a disgrace.

Because usually the loud mouth is the one doing great and they get pride and are filled with arrogance. Adrien Broner is not great and is nothing like Floyd. I thought Paulie won, but no **** Broner. He lost to de Leon big time. And besides he'll lose soon I guarantee. He won't be great.

you nailed it man.....boxing was supposed to be a gentleman's sport, but Clay made a living off denegrating people, and the fans just ate it up. now we talk about Clay like he was some Saint, so of course the new generations gonna follow suit

People love controversy. I don't care for it myself. If someone's a huge trash talker, I'd like to see them hit the canvas. I'm sure others will agree with me, but it brings us in. In so doing that, it equals money for the biz.

above everything else people want to be entertained and in the modern world there is no money in been a humble gentleman look at andre ward an amazing fighter and in my opinion pound for pound the best fighter in the world. he is extremely humble and people called him boring. people want to be entertained

being a ******** = more people hating you = more people want to see you get ktfo = them buying your fight = more money. all promoters care about is money if controversy means more money then they dont care what is said or how their fighters act.

boxing seems to be the only sport where being an arrogant self centred egotistic lunatic does you no harm at all . you would never see usain bolt saying the things that broner said about paulie m's X girl or roger federer making racist remarks against another player yet in boxing it happens ,mayweather has said loads of racist sh1t against manny pac .

Ali started with the bragging and others have followed like naz hamed ,mayweather ,broner .

i was brought up that boxing was a gentleman's sport where you acted with pride and you let your fist do the talking rather than a sport where you cuss each other before and after the fight .

the bit that gets me is why would broner want to brag about banging paulie's sloppy seconds , i wouldn't be telling anyone never mind millions on tv and the internet
