Are there lower weight limits in boxing?

What ever weight class the boxers are competing in, they cannot surpass that limit.

** There is the catch weight option, this is a weight agreed by the two competitors before hand, and is usually a couple of pounds over the standard weight class restrictions.

** If a boxer cannot make weight (weighs over the agreed limit), the fight can be ruled as void, or the offending party can pay a hefty fine to his opponent - For this to happen, the opponent has to accept the weight.

You can always fight in a heavier weight class, so you could fight welter at 135 if you wished to.

Weight limits mean that is the maximum you can weigh they do not say the minimum you can weigh because there is no minimum.
