Boxing: With 4 fights left, would a unification tourney at 147 be a good idea for Floyd?

with Bradley, Broner and Alexander? How would you seat them? Who would win?

I think so. Floyd has virtually won the titles that matter most at junior middleweights anyway despite being forced to come in beyond his natural fighting weight. In his latest fight with Canelo Alvarez, Floyd had to reduce one pound to come in at a lighter 150 lbs. while Canelo reportedly bloated to 160 after checking in at 152 at weigh-in.

At welterweights, Floyd would be in his best natural elements so there will no longer be any issues about the weight.

Barring any promotional hang-ups, at least one of those four remaining fights ideally has to be against the best that rival Top Rank Promotions could offer. And at this juncture, that could be against the ultimate winner of the JMM-Tim Bradley or the Manny Pacquiao-Brandon Rios fight series set this October and November. The winners of those scheduled important fights are projected to meet by spring of 2014 emerging as Top Rank's best bet for a possible fight against Floyd later in the year or early 2015.

Meanwhile, Floyd could keep himself busy waiting for his Top Rank rival by defending or fighting unification bouts against co-champions Marcos Maidana, Adrien Broner and Devon Alexander. Danny Garcia and Amir Khan are also possible near future opponents for Floyd

No because it wouldn't prove anything. With or

with or without belts he is the undisputed Welterweight and pound for Pound king.

The fight with Timothy Bradley would make a bit of sense if he can pull of a dominant performance over Marquez but he is a Top Rank fighter.

Alexander has no business being in the ring with Mayweather.

Broner has yet to fight at the very least a B level fighter.

Belts don't mean anything. The fights are what matters.

It makes sense but at the moment Mayweather has to sign fight that many people see as blockbusters. No-one would give Alexander a chance against Mayweather and it would most likely be a PPV flop with buys around 800,000. Bradley is with Top Rank but if it did happen, expect Mayweather to come out with another dominant victory. It would be a medium money fight with at the most 1.3 million PPV buys. And the Broner fight is huge money. Expect many people to tune in. I predict approximately 1.25 to 1.75 million PPV buys depending on the hype surrounding the bout. Mayweather would still be expected to win but don't expect this bout to happen either.

Mayweather's next opponents are most likely big money bouts so expect Amir Khan, Canelo Alvarez rematch, Middleweight champion, Manny Pacquiao and perhaps Danny Garcia.

you even dare mention bradley, aint he toprank? why not another weakling like brook, then broner and alexander???

man, you really support floyd's plan aint'ya?.. fighting no more "strong" champ before he retires ei?
