Boxing: Who deserves to be in the International Boxing Hall of Fame more?

A) De La Hoya

B) Trinidad

C) Calzaghe

Bonus: Why?

Oscar De La Hoya.

Boxing's biggest box office of his time, the most popular out of the three and had the best accomplishments/resume out of the three

Fame is subjective to nationality.

For many years Oscar de la Hoya was an American superstar but not much of a star outside the USA.

Trinidad had better victories then Oscar BUT as a Puerto Rican i don't think he was all that great because he cheated [plaster-hands] and i don't like cheaters.

Oscar de la Hoya deserved to be in the HOF. Oscar may have lost his biggest fights but his resume and star status is unquestionable.

Oscar fought Whitaker, Julio Cesar Chaves Sr., Trinidad, Vargas, BHops, Mayweather, Pacquiao among several others.

Calzaghe was great but he was protected in Europe for most of his career & came to the states after our 2 huge superstars in the division were old. The fact is Calzaghe was never very famous outside of Whales until he came for a short trip.

I've met Europeans who pound their chest because Calzaghe beat prime Jeff Lacy, i say; jeff who?

Trinidad by far he beat evey Olympic gold medal winner the US put in front of him. Oscar De La Hoya will get in because he fought everyone and his reputation. Calzaghe may have been better than all of these guys but he never fough and beat anyone that was un tested or old. I think Trinidad gets in first for sure.

A) De La Hoya

Fought better opponents, won multiple world titles in different divisions.

De La Hoya did get a few gift decisions in his career but his resume is still the best of the 3

I think Calzaghe also deserves to be in there.

Jesus R) I take it you only heard of Calzaghe once he came to America otherwise you'd know he was very well known throughout Europe for most of his career. Plus Calzaghe fought 18 of his 46 fights in Wales, which in American terms would mean he fought 28 fights abroad.

Tough question. Oscar had great quality of opposition, but i think he lost to Quartey as well as Whitaker, Mosley beat him twice, he ran from Tito for 4 rounds, Hopkins had him squirming on the ground like a biatch in heat from a body shot, then Manny gave the cross dresser the beating of his life. Tito was a great puncher who could also box. Shaky chin, though, Calzaghe got dropped by Jones and Hopkins and gave me no indication he could beat either in their primes. I'll go with Trinidad.

i think de la hoya accomplished a little more than trinidad. they both deserve to be in the hof... calzaghe too considering all his title defences (regardless of quality of opposition).

bert sugar once said "it's the hall of FAME not the hall of ACHIEVEMENT. i guess that sums it up (why so many underachievers get in there).

DLH

Oscar the pretty boy was awesome back in the day and sold out more fights worldwide

Oscar. Super Stardom and Achievements are on his side.

Trinidad.

His reign at welterweight was magical.
