Boxing vs. MMA...let's be real?

Actually, to correct your assumption, professional boxing appears to have an upsurge in popularity once again and is more popular than Mixed Martial Arts. The Hispanic population in America is growing rapidly, which is keeping professional boxing alive. If you look at the pay-per view numbers the numbers are through the roof and the numbers for HBO are doing very good.

Real Talk: The only reason anyone would like MMA over boxing is simply because they don't understand boxing. Boxing looks simply but is actually very complicated and takes years to learn, and if your just watching years to understand the strategies. It's like baseball, and not surprisingly, boxing and baseball are America's 2 oldest sports.

MMA is more like a modern american sport, like football or basketball. It has allot of flash, the brutality is in your face, and it feels modern, un-traditional. It also looks very complicated. But once you understand the rules and the strategies, I don't feel it's as complicated as boxing or baseball. Because in sports like MMA or football, people adopt the safest strategies possible, and it becomes risk averse.

In boxing the deceptive simplicity is the genius. The old adage "easy to learn, years to master" comes along. Once you understand the strategies and watch/been in a few boxing matches, you understand it and have fun watching/doing boxing. For allot of young boxing fans or young boxer,we tend to watch the slugfests the most, because it's easier to understand, and we might watch MMA or kickboxing, but then we get to understand boxing and watch the technical boxing matches, count punches, judge a round, and we get far more enjoyment out of that.

tl;dr only dumbasses think MMA is better, and people don't know shizznit about boxing

Boxing is about strategy, speed, thinking and power. Everything in one place, make one boxer good. MMA is only about power and speed. There is no strategy like boxing, so I choose the day's when Mike Tyson was the best and every little child wants to be like Mohamed Ali.

Boxing of course, MMA is a fad, boxing is eternal.

Ever heard of money?

Sorry... What exactly is your question?

Boxing is a gentleman's dispute. MMA is like, what is it anyway? is it some kind of joke? i've been an MMA fan for years ever since it started off as a free-for-all. I hate it now. the guys are all wannabes...and they wanna be what? world's biggest badass? half of these guys like jon jones for example are total baby face guys.

anyways...anyone who says boxing is dead? boxing is just sick. too many guys like floyd gayweather
