At least Douglas was actually beating Tyson and taking some rounds, it wasn't a lucky punch that won him the title whereas Rahman rolled the dice and came up trumps that night and then was destroyed in the rematch
Antonio Tarver
Hasim Rahman
Oliver McCall
BQ: it's a legitimate win but i don't consider it a very good one. Douglas was in horrible shape, clearly never trained properly after his upset over Tyson. To come in that shape for a first defence of the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world is quite shameful really.
The one hit wonder stuff, happens a lot at Heavyweight since then name everyone that beat Lennox Lewis, and Whladimir Klitschko, and you could call them one hit wonders, at least Lennox avenged all his losses though.
Mccall
Rahman
Brewster
Sanders
Frankie Randall (Though in reality Sweet Pea exposed the hype of Chavez before him)
Freddie Norwood
The two guys that whooped Pacquiao in the lower weights.
Ross Purrity who knocked out Wladamir.
You could argue guys like Ricky Hatton and Oscar are one hit wonders (Kosta Tzyu and Chavez Snr respectively) as they both went on to lose all their big fights after wards.
Cant think of any more off the top of my head.
James Braddock who upset Max Baer for the championship and was destroyed by Joe Louis in his first defense.
The one they missed. Nobuhiro Ishida, he beat Kirkland by KO, became champion and now gone after losing to GGG by KO.
steve cruz who beat mcguigan ,corrie sanders beating wladimir ,
Who else do you think falls into the one hit wonder bracket?
BQ: Do people consider Douglas a good legitimate win for Holyfield. In other words, does Douglas go down as one of the better opponents on Holyfield's record, or just a journeyman?
