Cause he was loud and annoying. But I personally loved him as a boxer and showman. I honestly think it was cause he was of middle eastern descent that he got most of the hate

The guy's one of a kind. You gotta love the somersault.LOL

How come many people disliked the Prince Naseem Hamed?

El Jefe, to be fair, NOT MANY. i still have to see here one contributor who does not like the Prince.

EDIT: My IRS suck. it submits w/o my permission LOL. The guys may not like the arrogance but boxing skill wise, they sure love Prince Hamed

What you can't become - You hate...

Naz was an exceptional talent... Not only was he super, super confident, he also had the fists to back up his claims!

He was arrogant, cocky, self assured, fearless, and exciting. The full package.

Even now, looking at his fights, he was special - There can be no doubting that.

Boxers like Naz, ensure there will be another generation of boxing fans.

He gave praise to Allah in the run up to fights, and also after victories. This fact in conjunction with his showmanship and incredible arrogance made him unpalatable to American audiences, and British fans too. He was a legend though, one of the best British boxers ever I think.

He quit boxing cold turkey after losing in one-sided to his first sternest opponent Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera.

I think because he was a bit too arrogant and a lot of people felt he was overrated. I think they were right because he retired after he got schooled by Barrera.

I found him overrated and when he fought a real boxer in Barrera he got beat up and he ducked a match with Marquez.

many people didnt like his showboating antics.....

i didnt mind cause he backed it up with his fists, but i think he really hurt his legacy by all but retiring after suffering his first loss

i would have loved to see a fight between him and Erik Morales

Growing up I was a big fan of Chavez Sr., De La Hoya, Tsyzu

But my Favorite was the Prince. He was a total package. Style, personality & he was entertaining. I don't think boxing will ever have another personality like his.
