Do you think Canelo will be Lara's first and last PPV?

I'm not sure ANYBODY is gonna want to pay to see him if he continues fighting like that. I feel like this was Lara's big chance to impress and he blew it.

I'd say so, at least as a headliner.

Not even b/c of his style and the fact that he brings no $$$ to the table, but b/c I don't know what opponent there is for Lara to face on PPV.

It'd have to be a big name, and I don't see any reason why Lara would get a fight w/ Floyd, Pac, Cotto or Canelo again.

Lara still brings a lot to the table despite what happened the other night. Styles make fights as they say and the other night was an interesting clash of styles but terrible fight so promoters may want to consider that next time. I thought his other fights wtih P.WIll, Molina, Angulo etc.. were quite good. Not sure if he'll headline a PPV but with the right dance partner I don't see why not.

For the life of me can't figure how this fight got a PPV in the first place. Too many so, so fights are now PPV rated and the average guy isn't going to pay for this type of fight. IMO.

He will end up like rigo - fighting on tv azteca or some other channel. No one wants to see a guy run a marathon and then claim he got robbed.

No way. Lara will remain a main player at 154 lbs. He fought Canelo the way he should and we should not take it away from him. It was a close fight that many also thought he won deservedly.

I have been hearing this claim about certain fighters running but truthfully in all my years following and watching boxing i have yet to see one who turned his back on his opponent and literally run away. In fact the only time I saw a fighter remotely close to doing that was when Joe Frazier tried to move away from George Foreman after being brutally dumped to the canvas twice or thrice before and Big George eventually managed to dunk him again with another powerful blow as Frazier was turning away.

I think as boxing fans we should disabuse our minds about this inaccurate and unfounded claims about boxers running away. First why the double standard? Why is it that when fighters like Frazier when they try to use their feet to move away it is called evasion and when fighters like Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and yes Erislndy Lara, fans are quick to call it as running away?

Fighters especially boxers use and are adept at using their feet and head and body for that matter for movement and maneuver, that should be first and foremost to consider in judging their actions and behavior inside the ring.

I saw Floyd's fights against Miguel Cotto, Canelo Alvarez and Marcos Maidana and I could swear that there was never even a moment he turned his eyes and his back away from any of them. He moved his head, body and feet both in evasive and offensive maneuvers but no literal running away. Floyd has slowed down and was more dependent on static defense for years now so I don't know the basis of this continuing claim about him running away.

I also saw the Erislndy Lara fight against Canelo and there was no literal running away either. Even Canelo admitted that it's just Lara's style which is characteristic of the Cuban school of boxing that emphasizes speed, great footwork, defense and counter-punching.

Many who saw the fight including not a few experts said that Lara won the fight.

It's the height of folly to expect fighters like Floyd and Lara to change the way they are fighting only to satisfy the largely unschooled casual fans.

Yep. Back to ESPN or being the undercard

I'm not sure ANYBODY is gonna want to pay to see him if he continues fighting like that. I feel like this was Lara's big chance to impress and he blew it.
