- Split decision is where 2 judges think fighter A won, and the other judge gives it to fighter B
- Majority decision is where 2 judges give the fight to fighter A, and the third judge calls it a draw
- Majority Draw is where 1 judge declares fighter A the winner, and the other two judges call it a draw.
The first three options I mentioned still result in a victory for 'Fighter A'. whereas the Majority draw is declared a Draw.
For example, Pacquiao's third fight against Marquez, two judges gave the fight to Pacquiao. one judge declared it as a draw, therefore it was a "Majority Decision" in favour of Pacquiao.
A Majority draw is quite rare. However an example is Bernard Hopkins' first fight against Pascal. One judge scored it in favour of Hopkins, whereas 2 declared it a draw. Thus the fight was ruled a 'Majority Draw'.
What's up with the weird answers?
Unanimous is all 3 judges having a winner (like 117-111, 118-110, 116-112)
Majority is 2 judges having a winner and the third scoring it a draw (like 117-111, 118-110, 114-114)
Unanimous is when all the judges (normally 3) call one fighter the winner.
Majority decision is when 2 of the judges call it for one and the third judge couldn't say who won.
For the others, look at primealis reply.
unnamious decision:
all satisfied with one decision.
majority decision:
1 in 3 not satisfied with that decision.
UNANIMOUS = all the judges agree.
MAJORITY DECISION = most of the judges agree, but some don't.
Unanimous means that every person was in agreement. Majority means that most people were in agreement.
