Do you think if Mayweather fought 15 round fights his knockout percentage would be higher? DREAM MATCH BQ???

There are guys that were almost done in 12... And Floyd coasted at the end...his stamina would allow him more KOs for sure....

Guerrero

Marquez

possibly Mosley

BQ: Floyd would squeeze out SD vs Wright...he is so big and long. His jab would trouble Floyd and he is southpaw. His low offensive output would be why zfloyd wins

Great question.

.

Believe it or not, I think Mayweather's KO percentage would be higher. Take a look.

.

Mayweather isn't knocking guys out at 147 and 154, at least not as he did at 140 and below. However, he is one of the few, in the post 15 round era, who would have no trouble going 15 rounds....at the same pace.

.

If you look at Mayweather's fights, you will see that some of his opponents are clearly NOT 15 round fighters..

Look at his fight with Oscar da la Hoya. The fight was virtually even until Oscar gassed out and Floyd swept the last four rounds. The exact same thing can be said for the Mosley fight and the Cotto fight. . .Even at 154, I think Mayweather would have stopped Cotto in a 15 round fight.

.

Now you have to consider something else, VERY important. Look at Leonard vs Hearns 1. Hearns lead on all cards until Leonard stopped him in the 14th round. . People generally assume that Hearns would have won if the fight were 12 rounds... It's an incorrect assumption. While I think Hearns could have won, it has nothing to do with the length of rounds... Guys like Leonard and Hearns would simply pace themselves differently in a 12 round fight.

.

Now let's go back to Mayweather.

.

The following Mayweather opponents, 147 and above, have proven to NOT be 15 round fighters. They gas out in 12 round fights and would have been stopped in 15 round fights against Mayweather.

Miguel Cotto

Oscar de la Hoya

Shane Mosley

Zab Judah

Juan Manuel Marquez

.

Marquez is tough enough to go 15 but the fight was so one-sided, it's more likely that he would be stopped on his feet. The rest just don't have the fortitude to go 15, something Mayweather would have no trouble doing. They would be soundly beaten and stopped.

.

It's also very possible that Mayweather would have stopped Alvarez. I've seen nothing that suggests that he could go the 15 round route.

.

As for your dream bout at 154, Winky Wright is very difficult to beat and he was largely avoided by top fighters in and around his division. He was actually a full middleweight who simply fought at 154. He is much bigger than Mayweather, naturally..

.

While his style would be troublesome, I think Mayweather beats him at a catch-weight of 152. However, if they agree to 154, Wright would likely enter the ring at about 165, to Mayweather's 152. Floyd doesn't gain weight after the weigh-in.

.

In a 12 round fight Winky takes a split decision as his size and strength prevents Mayweather from executing his game plan. Twelve rounds would not give Floyd enough time to do what he does best.

.

In a 15 round fight, I think Mayweather pulls away in the last few rounds and takes a close decision. The size makes the difference and works for Wright in 12 and against him in 15.

I say that being that Floyd has the stamina of a Mustang(Horse) and his right hand can sustain from being injured my answer would be yes if not KO's then TKO's. I'd say TKO over Mosely and maybe Cotto..

BQ: I think Floyd would take Wink Wright by SD in a 15 rounder.. Ronald has that Turtle Shell defense so it wouldn't be an easy fight for Floyd.. I say Floyd would beat Winky the way he beat Diego.

I think he would knock out some people but many of them and Floyd himself would simply pace themselves.

5 round fights are in a faster pace than 10 round fights, etc.

Some fighters that Floyd seemed to weaken in the 12th round, like Miguel Cotto, could have fought defensively and survived 15 rounds. Others, like Castillo, would have likely benefitted in 15 round fights against Floyd.

Guys like Guerrero would have likely been kayod by Floyd in a 15 round fight.

Keep dreaming Cali... He can't even break a matchstick.

Nah, he's just not a KO artist.

I can name a handful of fighters that would have a tough time making it to 15 rounds against Mayweather. Do you think he would have Ko'd a few fighters that made it through 12? If so, name them and why?

BQ: Mayweather vs Winky Wright at 154 lbs, both in their 30's, 15 rounds, who wins and why?
