Floyd Mayweather vs Sugar Ray Robinson.. Who wins?? Both at their prime?

On legend, you should believe that Floyd would lose to SRR, hands down. But honestly I dont think its that simple.

Let me qualify this answer, I have said on many occasions that Ray Leonard would drop Floyd cold, and I still hold to that. But Ray Leonard was a completely different beast than Robinson.

Here is the problem that I see it. If you watch Robinson film enough, you realize that his best and most devastating punches are these makeshift "haymaker hooks" that arent thrown with much style or form...and since they are blazing quick and drop folks, stylistically hes never really called on the LACK of technique.

The problem here, is that if Floyd can do NOTHING else in his sleep...he can avoid hooks. Thats what his style is made to do..he either rolls them, gloves them or completely footsteps out of the way. The style is made on the premise that straight punches, do not do as much damage to you down the road as a hook from either side.

So, legends aside, the styles of the fighters dont make this as straight forward as you would think.

The reason why I gave Ray Leonard the W on Floyd is because he was a multi dimensional fighter that could throw ALL his punches, straight or hooks, blazingly fast. IMO he was a hair faster than Ray Robinson and a much more complete boxer.

Would Ray Robinson win? Likely, but I dont think it would be the landslide anyone thinks it would. I think Robinson would struggle once his hooks were taken out of his arsenal and he would be forced to use punches he is not comfortable using....he may out land Floyd...but Floyd would stand for twelve or fifteen rounds.

As good as Floyd is, he's not in Robinson's league. I don't believe Floyd would have beaten a prime Sugar Ray Leonard, let alone Robinson.

Thats not a discussion that is hate you dense inbred

Different weight divisions and Sugar Ray was overall a better fighter. No argument here; Sugar Ray wins.

They're not in the same league. Easy work for Robinson. Hell I don't think Fraud could go past 5 rounds. KO4 is the farthest Fraud can go against SRR.

SRR will just slap him back to africa... Floyd's 0 is just a big bull crap... he keep hiding from his closet...he loves hitting women...

Oh yeah baby!!!

SRR easily.

Ok. I was reading about Ray Robinson when i read that Muhammad Ali called him, the king, the master, and his idol.. and i was like damn this guy must be really good. And when i look at his stats i was even more impressed and the fact 3 magazines named him the greatest boxer ever. But when i found that he was lightweight to middleweight i was surprised, i though he would have been a heavyweight or something, because of Muhammad Ali called him the king and that stuff.. Anyway when i found that out,, the one thing that i immedeaitly thought was.. would he beat Mayweather???

They are same weight class at some point and they are really good fighters.... so would the legendary boxer called the king, master and idol by Muhammad Ali be able to beat the undefeated Mayweather???

I go for Ray Robinson
