Has boxing turned into WWE-style entertainment rather than a sport?

Yes you nailed it.

Real sports tend to have a governing body that matches the best with the best.

NFL, NBA & FC all do this.

Boxing has not for years.

There was always ducking going on but it has reached a new level.

What boxing is missing is one of those fighters who fights em all regardless of money.

Joe Frazier-Muhammad Ali 1 was a great fight and it happened because both FIGHTERS wanted it to happen. They had no money dispute, 50-50 that simple and they knew the winner would earn more in their next bout.

Today is WWE. Build up a fighter who's **** but make him seem good. Broner went up the ranks fighting nobody yet he won 3 ''titles''.

Evereyone surprised the next golden boy Ortiz got knocked out by Collazo yet those idiots forget that Collazo almost whipped prime Mosley and he beat undefeated Ricky Hatton @147lbs but got robbed.

I had 1 of those idiots who don't know **** about boxing tell me that Joshua Clottey was ****, he said this because he never heard of Clottey but he was all over Broners d1ck LOL

Clottey, a nobody, would destroy Broner any day.

Additional;

@Rich Cotto-Clottey was at least competitive. I think Clottey-Broner would be a 1 sided *** whoppin that the judges wouldn't be able to rob kind of like the Maidana fight.

In the case of boxing ,perhaps it should be reformed ,do away with all belts and have a one continental title and one world title per weight class as well as one world boxing president with one of his associates per continent as a promote to dictate who should fight who for titles.

Boxing isn't quite like the NFL or the NBA because all the players get paid well on average compared to boxers on average ,nor does NFL or NBA athletes get paid more or less according to how good or how popular the team is.

I know its never going to happen but, One belt in each division = no ducking

No, far from it. It's the business side of things that is ruining the sport.

*For me ducking= A fighter or a fighter's camp exhibiting actions that stop a fight happening that the fans want to see*

There is so much ducking going on, mother of god! Stevenson looks to be swerving a Kovalev fight in order to make money, Money May has ducked countless great fights that we wanted to see in order to preserve the 0, Marquez turned down Provo cos "he didn't bring enough to the table", Provo turned down Rios cos he couldn't make weight, Bradley turned down Khan to preserve his chances of fighter Pac, Abner Mares swerves Gonzalez rematch blah blah blah

If ever one of these marketable (Al Haymon's future money spinner) guys gets in the ring with a dangerous opponent eg. Broner with Maidana or Garcia with Matthysse, they have the muthaf@ckin ref in their pocket and get away with multiple flagrant illegal acts. Boxing is a joke now man. It's just about making money, eugh disgusting.

There needs to be unification of sanctioning bodies, or else just no sanctioning bodies whatsoever. This is the most corrupt "sport" in the world, it could be beautiful but t is uglier than **** now.
