How would you rate ken norton punching power?

people tend to say he had above average power

I agree w/ EWWD.

Norton was solid in all areas, and had no real weaknesses. His power was most definitely above average IMO, but it wasn't anything tremendous.

His chin wasn't that bad either. He got knocked out badly by Shavers, Foreman, and Cooney, but they're three of the hardest hitting fighters ever. Those three dudes had a combined 174 wins (164 KO's.

Now THAT's some punching power.

Ken Norton had very good punching power, he broke Muhammad Ali's jaw in 1973. But he had a terrible chin when it came to him facing punchers like Gerry Cooney, George Foreman, Jose Luis Garcia, and Earnie Shavers, they all knocked him out.He in a sense was like a heavyweight Thomas Hit Man Hearns, the bangers knocked him out.

Norton was kind of good "overall" without bring "eceptional" in one area.....power being one of them

i would rate him a solid 7 out of 10.....he KOd Jerry Quarry, who was pretty tough, and of course he busted Cassius Clay in his muthufcukin mouth in their first bout

he had good power

but he got his head handed to him when he fought Foreman.
