If Floyd's surprise in May 2015 is to retire, do u think he can really retire for real? Or will he be back after a w

I think two fights will be it for Mayweather. I don't see a reason for him to fight any further. What would it accomplish? I'm still Amazed that people continue to compare Floyd's record with that of Rocky Marciano's. It's the stupidest thing anyone can discuss. .

There is No significance, what so ever, to Mayweather's record in relation to Marciano's. Mayweather is a multi-weight champion and Marciano was a heavyweight. Julio Cesar Chavez when 88-0 before he ever lost. I followed his career from the time he first appeared on American television. I never heard any reference to Marciano's record then. Oddly enough, the 47th win of Chavez' career was a second round knockout of Floyd's uncle Roger.

If comparisons to Marciano's record meant something, we would surely have heard it then. It's insignificant as Rocky was a heavyweight and these guys were not. It's not to diminish their greatness but these comparisons are just foolish and baseless.

.

In any case, I think it's just two more fights for Floyd and then he'll call it a career.

Is there something that's surprising than retirement? He might retire then come back when everything is safe and clear. If Pacquiao won against Algieri, he might retire just like before with Margarito.

I think he's clever enough with his money and investments to be able to retire and stick to it, if you look at his age and lack of prospective interesting opponents, it makes sense to call it a day, his place amongst boxing's greatest is assured.

Most fighters who come out of their retirements do so because they're strapped for cash. I can't see this guy suffering those same woes. He's got a great brand, identity and many assets

He won't retire till he gets 49-0 and possibly 50-0 to break the record. There are still bodies out there to fight.

So announcing his retirement will not be a surprise to us, knowing that he'll be back again like before and like others?

Floyd will not, cannot retire without fulfilling his contractual obligations with CBS Showtime unless he has compelling reason to do so like failing health. He will definitely fight in May 2015 and it could be against Amir Khan or Kell Brook.

how can a brook or khan fight be a surprise, both are lowrisk fights and he was so vocal about looking for such fights?

how can another retirement be a surprise, he already did that when prime margarito cotto & mosley were all threats, actually twice, when pacquiao was p4p king....

you can only call it a surprise when he do the opposite of what everybody thinks hes doing or he will do...

The way Floyd spends money, I think once his money gets below a certain level he'll come back for another couple of fights.

It ain't no surprise, He did retire a couple of times when threats of his precious egg surfaced.

Retire rather than fight Pac
