First and Foremost I think that this is a pretty unfair comparison because your taking Floyd Mayweather's worst performance and matching it with one of Julio Caesar Chavez's best performances.
A more accurate comparison would be comparing Floyd as a Lightweight VS Julio as a Lightweight and if that were the question then I think Floyd Mayweather would've beaten him to a decision.
However, that wasn't your question, So, my answer is Julio Cesar Chavez beats that version of Floyd Mayweather because Floyd fought with a shoulder injury and didn't look like himself. Julio Caesar Chavez is one of the greatest fighters of All-Time and Floyd can't beat him at anything less than 100%.
You should say the Mayweather who beat Marquez, because anyone who knows boxing would know that in their first fight, anyway, Castillo beat the heck off Mayweather but Floyd got a gift decision.

First of all, Chavez brutally destroyed Taylor; he ended his career as a boxer. Second of all, Chavez was no longer at his 100% prime when he fought Whitaker. Even he said that after the fight with Camacho he started to drink and use cocaine. And Last but not least, Taylor, and Whitaker were way better fighters than Floyd will ever be. This is like the bull vs the matador type of fight with Chavez the Mexican legend with one of the greatest left hooks in boxing history and a man who went over 100 fights before finally losing against perhaps the greatest fighter fighting today in Mayweather who has those great boxing skills, underrated punching power, great reflexes, and great counter punching skills too. Would the aggressiveness of Chavez and the power be enough to beat the very clever and smart Mayweather Jr? I believe that this fight would be close and that it could go either way. I know it would be a fans delight. Chavez had considerable problems vs speedy fighters in his career like Taylor and Whitaker and Mayweather is very similar in that aspect. I believe that although Chavez down with those left hooks to the body and even possibly knock him out late, that Mayweather would weather some trying times in the fight, tag Chavez with some great counters and pull out a close decision victory in a great fight.
