What should Juan Manuel Marquez do next?

Yea Pacquiao 5 seems inevitable. I don't think he truly wants to fight Pacquiao again but he seems really keen on getting a title in a 5th division and now that Pacquiao has the belt he has the incentive to fight him again unlike before. Shawn Porter is technically still a free agent but he's with Al Haymon so that rules him out, there's really no other choice for him if he wants another belt.

He probably would prefer fighting Bradley again but maybe next year after Tim gets back to winning ways. That's a good idea to have Marquez vs Bradley first but uncle Bobby seems obsessed with the 5th fight in Macau because he knows the PPV potential so I think that would be unlikely. No 1million + fight for Top Rank since late 2012 which was Pacquiao Marquez 4, the one before that.... Pacquiao Marquez 3.

Fight anyone BUT Pacquiao. We've seen enough of this. I wish Arum would just GO.............Somewhere............and stop feeding the fans his junk fights. They fought FOUR times. I know guys did that in the old days but boxing has changed.

.

We've seen enough of Pacquiao vs Marquez. Lets see something new.

.

How about Porter or Khan. The welterweight division is ripe with big name fighters. We know the likelihood of a Mayweather rematch is unlikely. I'd like to see Marquez go for Porter's title.

Pac vs. JMM for me is a good alternative to the megafight if its still not possible. Who would not like to watch Pac's brutal revenge?.

yea, I want all those mexican acnes crushed like cherries... w/vada officiating, those acnes will explode for lack of sustainance...

I like this fight... this will be the end fight for either one of them...

get a job

I don't think he needs to revisit the whole Bradley thing again. Win or lose, they won't generate that much interest and there is a risk in him losing momentum as a draw. Right now he needs to either fight Pac (which I'm opposed to) for the payday or carefully choose another opponent who he can look good against like Rios or an exciting fighter like Provodnikov.

I think he should continue to play hard to get with Bob Arum until he agrees to:

1. Set the fight in the Mexico which Arum and Pacquiao have been avoiding for the longest time. Pacquiao is the only Pinoy Mexicutioner who has not fought and won on Mexican ring ( Luisito Espinosa and even Donnie Nietes had done that a few times in their career ). Macau is not a neutral venue with Filipinos filling up 90 percent of the seats at Cottai in Pacquiao's fight versus Brnadon Rios.

2. Give him a fair share of the purse and PPV revenue inasmuch as Mexican and Mexican-American fans account for much of the gate and PPV incomes in all of their four previous bouts.

If both Arum and Pacquiao refuse, Marquez can target Shawn Porter's IBF title for his fifth world title in five weight classes or a megabuck rematch with Floyd Mayweather. for Floyd's WBC/WBA titles which both figure to be patronized by American boxing aficionados than a fight between two non-Americans held in far-off Macau or even on American soil ( Remember the PPV flop Pacquiao-Clottey fight in Texas? )

The best move would be to go after his title in a 4th weight class. The best options would be Pacquiao or Porter. He can't mess with Floyd. If I were directing him, Porter's belt would be my choice because of the lack of experience.

He should whoop Pacquiao again for a 5th time like he always has.

I think he will end up fighting Pacquiao for the 5th time.

However I think he would like to avenge his defeat to Tim Bradley as well. Should he go straight for a show down with Pacquiao, or do you think a better idea would be a rematch with Bradley, then the winner take on Pacquiao at the end of the year, or in the new year?
