Why do most boxers keep their feet and leg relitively still compared to their hips?

most boxers power comes from the hips and there weakest points are there legs. They will generally keep to punching and kicking for a knockout so the head and chest area is there main target. The chest controls how well they can breath so also how well they can react

Very few fighters can deliver hard punches on the fly, so to speak. Only ATGs as Robinson, Ali and Henry Armstrong because of their great balance and their uncanny ability of putting their weight behind their punches even on the tip-toe, can consistently do that, even kayoing some opponents in the process. But most fighters then and now have to plant their feet firmly on the canvas to be able to deliver punches that could hurt or kayo their opponents. If you will notice, fighters move a lot while boxing but would stop moving and plant their feet firmly on the ground to gain greater leverage when they are exchanging harder punches while using more their hips for offensive as well as defensive movements. That's the natural thing to do as I said before, it's rare to see fighters delivering hard punches and combinations on the fly, or constantly moving with their feet.

You must have an anchor to form leverage. If you dont you have no power.

Ali danced all over the ring but every punch was thrown on that split second anchoring of his feet. Its called "timing" without it you have nothing.

Power must have a base an ANCHOR ....... otherwise you only have arm strength instead of your full power to weight force. The hips follow the foot not the other way round.

Bc most only have a third grade education?? Boxing does not compare to Tap Out or cage fighting boxing is dying..why? Bc boxing is rigged bunch of crooked judges just like ice skating. Tap Out 99% of the time you have a concise and precise winner just by seeing which competitor doesnt get up.

You obviously have not seen Muhammad Ali fight. Try to get a CD of one of his fights and you will be astonished at his footwork. Dancing around the ring helped him beat more powerful opponents with ease.

Is it more powerful to keep the legs as static as is possible in order to get the most rotation into your hips?

Is it because if the legs aand feet are rotating full then that is rotational force that could be used/channeled into hip rotation?

Dont tell me its to save energy or to avoid counters because even the heavy handed punchers and iron jawed brawlers do it.
