Whats all this nonsense with smelling salts?

kalambre, smelling salts are what people use to wake someone up and give them a kick or make them more alert.

Like if Chino was getting gassed, which he was at that point (pretty badly too), giving him smelling salts would be like a boost to his body and give him some energy.

Usually they're used if someone got knocked out, they put the smelling salts under their nose, and when the fighter inhales it, normally it will get them to wake up quicker.

I agree totally w/ you g, I think Ariza is a scumbag and wouldn't put it past him to do anything, but in this instance people are trying to use an inconclusive video as evidence of something sketchy happening there.

The video is weird, and Ariza just got Rios popped for diuretics, but I think this is a red herring for a lot of people.

edit: To your question about what if it's actually true, then I think it'd be hard to just act as if both incidents are isolated and these two (Rios and Chino) are the only ones who have been given something.

You'd have to question every fighter Ariza has been with, b/c if he's done it twice in two fights, you can guarantee that it's highly likely he does it on a consistent basis.

It's just a roomer.

As for Smelling salt; it has been used for centuries even back in old British bareknuckle boxing with the purpose of alerting a fighter.

It is preferable because while it is a banned substance in most boxing nations, it is also something that you can't test for.

It has been used by many fighters to wake them up after being rocked.

Muhammad Ali had some, illegally, after he got dropped by Henry Cooper.

Maidana was not in trouble in the 10th so i don't see why he would need smelling salt

The only real cheat was the disgraceful ref who warned Broner 2 dozen times and never deducted a point.

My thoughts on this is just Broner fans acting like sore losers, cant except that their fighter was not that good. They wont give Maidana his credit cause thats what sore losers do.

These type of fans like the Pactards or the Flomos force u want to hate their fighters cause of their "fanboy" or "groupie" approach. Thats why PAC got that reaction after he lose cause the pactards made people resent PAC for his fans

Guys this is the all fan favorite Ariza not Angel Heredia LMAO.

Stick took my answer. They are used mostly to wake up somebody who is unconscious. But in the ring you can only give your fighter water. That's it. Other than maybe a coagulant when cuts happen.

Salts don't smell G. WTF are you talking about?

Now people are saying, based on some video that Ariza slipped Maidana some smelling salts between the 11th and 12th rounds.

I saw the vid, it's not really clear whats going on but I can sense this gaining a bit of momentum Bam2x's recent drugs test failure and with all the people online who hate Ariza.

I'm one of those who thinks he's scum and not above doing some dodgy **** to help his fighter, not necessarily peds but weight loss stuff and diuretics, but I don't think he's stupid enough to do something during the fight.

Thoughts?

If proven to be true, what are the implications for any fighters currently being trained by Ariza and former fighters as well?
