Since Mayweather is his own boss, is it possible that part of the agreement in?

man this is wild.... you mean "take a dive"??? aw man, when did you start contemplatin on this probability...

with floyds set up... bein his own boss, that's possible... i mean we heard him, he doesnt wanna get hurt, he wants to retire healthy, he looks for a certain or particular opponent...

i said "probability" right?... so yea its probable, but then again there's no enuf proof unless one of them (those who took the dive) will squeal... i'm thinkin of mosley, then ortiz... and maybe canelo... as we all saw how their fights ended up... the worst was canelo, people actually believed in him, and look what he did in front of floyd...

@erashad

dude, you wont get a fight if you dont obey the boss, ok? you wont get paid if you fu
@teo

how can someone who dont care about money can even engage on what you are saying:

Wow... That's some statement....

The chances of any elite boxer deliberately taking a dive are way out there...

How many people would have to be in on it??

Obviously, the two boxers can't be photographed in a parking lot talking business..

So the fighters respective teams do the planning.... What happens when one of the conspirators falls out with the pack....?? How much is a story like that worth to the gutter press...??

What if one fighter reneges on the deal half way through the fight..?

Sounds a good storyline for a Hollywood move... But in reality, it's a non-starter.

The opponent's would make even more money if they beat him because then they would be the next big thing.

That being said there is a very real trend going on with Mayweather and boxing. His style to this point seems unbeatable and every guy he fights against he beefs them up during promotion to make people think that maybe they could beat him. Then he wins in dominating fashion and makes them rich. He even admitted as much in the last 24/7 series with Canelo.

You must really hate Mayweather

I seriously doubt that he does that because as much as I would like to make that kind of money, I don't have it in me to lose on purpose, not in an event like that. I can't see how any fighter would agree to that.

When Mayweather fights, you can see the genuine look of frustration on his opponents face. Canelo looked like he was going you cry.

Baloney! That line of questioning is more relevant to Top Rank/Arum and Pacquiao since Pacquiao has been fighting handpicked TR foes since years back and some have performed very suspiciously against him (Clottey, Margarito and recentlt Rios--tigers who suddenly turned *******! )

Floyd is his own boss but unlike Arum/Pacquiao, he does not have a stable of fighters under him to choose from. He does not have a Freddie Roach to give him further advice who to avoid among his stablemates ( Casamayor, Guzman, Soto, Valero,, Khan, Alvarado, Provodnikov ),

negotiating with them is to take a fall otherwise he will not choose them? He can easily convince them because he is the PPV King and whoever opponent he picks stand to make a lot of money from the proceeds. He can then keep and pad his undefeated record and no one will question his victory because he is favored to win so it's not surprising that he wins. And, could Arum and Manny's refusal to go along with that demand be the reason why Manny is not getting the fight?
