Manny Pacquuao just called out Mayweather. Will Floyd find another excuse to duck?

Without a doubt. Will be interesting to see what the excuse is this time. There can't be that many excuses left now

The only reason why the fight was still a dream was because of the boxing public especially Floyd's fans. Don't give any room for Floyd to do what he was doing and make him realize that he doesn't have a choice but to give in, then we might have a chance. The question is how many of his fans willing to refuse being at his disposal and can act on their own? How many jesters are there in his kingdom? Some might be on his payroll and that is understandable but those who were on his bandwagon and supported, justified and glorified whatever choices of opponent he made got to stop if they really want to see the fight. This should start now when he fight Marcos Maidana. Show him by not buying the PPV and let him know who is the boss that without the boxing fans, he is just an ordinary unemployed citizen begging for compassion. Help stop him for being spoiled thinking that he can do whatever he want and nobody is bigger than the sport that made them who they are now. He might as well retire if he can not make it just like an employee working.

If he will make another excuse will depend on the outcome and PPV revenue on his fight with Maidana. I don't believed Showtime is willing to loss money on their venture with Floyd. 250M for several fights is a lot of money and they can not afford to continuously on the losing end. Canelo/Floyd alone can not make them reach a break even much more get something from it. I won't be surprised if they were having a second thoughts now in signing Floyd because of his choices.

If the RBT was such a problem I don't understand why he is ok with doing it from late 2012-present but had a problem with it when first proposed in 09/10. If he accepted the RBT back then like he is willing to do now then it would have given Floyd no choice but to take the fight unless he made another demand which would make it far clearer he was ducking.

Speaking of excuses sometimes I just wonder about uncle Bobby's explanations because when it was announced the Floyd would go to jail in January 2012 Arum said he wants Pacquiao to fight on the May 5th 2012 date but then it was announced the jail sentence was delayed until June and Arum says Pacquiao's cut sustained against Marquez needs time to heal and that date is too early wtf? the fight was in November 2011.

By the way i'm still waiting for that big outdoor stadium he promised, any updates?

Probably. He wants to keep his spotless record clean, and messing with Pacquiao might blemish that.

Unfortunately, in professional boxing nowadays, it is easy to "hide", or duck, another boxer because of the 85 (Yes, 85!!!) recognized belts in professional boxing today. Especially in the lower divisions. There are 17 weight classes! And on top of that, within each of these divisions, there are 5 recognized titles/belts. (Thus the 85 belts: 17 x 5 = 85).

So you can still be a "champion", but not have to fight the best boxers in, or even near, your division.

It's a shame! Back in the day, if you wanted to be the champion, you had to fight the champion!!! There used to be 7 weight classes, and 1 recognized champion (Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight, Middleweight, Welterweight, Lightweight, Featherweight and Bantamweight).

Over time, greed and money created more and more divisions and belts. We went from 7 possible champs, to 85. A long time ago, if you weighed 135 lbs. and you wanted to be the champion, you had to fight the Lightweight Champion! Now, however, if you weigh 135 lbs., you can fight for the WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF, or even The Ring Belt. Or, you can just fluctuate your weight and fight in another weight class (+5 or -5 lbs.).

So again, because of the many, many means of hiding, or "ducking", an opponent that you don't want to fight, there are several means of doing so. It's sad, but true. There are several ways to "break your title-obligations" without losing it.

So to sum, YES, Floyd can, and will, find another way to avoid fighting Pacquiao, while Bob Arum will continue to build up anticipation for other fights to get the fans' attention away from this fight. Plus, because each of them are getting older, they can now use that as an excuse. "If I could have boxed him in my prime, or anywhere near it, I would have beat his a**. But now that I'm at the end of my career, it won't be the same."

Watch and see! That's probably going to be very close to what he says before it's all over!!!

Like ive said before ,Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather will not fight until Pacquiao's contract expires at the end of 2014 ,then serious negotiations will be made after that.

The new line is "The time for this fight has passed" lol or else "I don't think it will ever happen"

Scumbag reporters and boxing writers are trotting out this boolshlt day in day out.

If Manny and Floyd never fight, Manny wins because he has a better record and is the modern day Henry Armstrong. And if they do fight he won't lose because he does not doubt himself, and he does not fear pain or death, whereas Floyd does.

He's got another good excuse. Pacman's mama got bad voodoo. She appeared to be hexing Bradley while sitting at ringside during the fight and look what happened, he lost. So Floyd can say Manny cheats by asking his mama to put a curse on him while they're fighting ; P

If we will not look beyond the petty reasons of fear and cowardice, we will never understand the real and true reasons why this fight is not happening anytime soon or ever.

It is essentially a clash of pride. If you will analyze what happened, it had been a battle of one-upmansfhip, vain posturing, blame-throwing between the two camps since 2010.

But for this discussion let us take away for the moment the humungous pride of the promoters and their sycophants and focus on the fighters--Floyd and Manny.

Who between the two do you think is capable of swallowing some pride and willing to concede oydsome concessions for that fight to happen?

I don't believe Floyd will come down from his ivory tower.

But in a flush of pride, foolish I would say, Manny even announced after his win over Bradley that his line is open for Floyd to call him up.

Duh? That will never happen. Again. Floyd in a rare and surprising display of gumption, had called him up before but Manny vacillated, blinked and failed to call the bluff so to speak.

As in real situation where there are two competing toughies in a neighborhood, there are two ways to prove who is tougher. One is for the two of them to duke it out mano a mano which is most often what usually happens. But the other way is for one or both continue to ignore each other, preferring to operate within each other's territory, which is happening with Manny and Floyd fighting exclusively for their res pective promotions and trying to prove who is the better fighter by fighting other fighters.

We must understand that in real life, rivals do not relish sharing the same podium or place of honor.

Floyd does not believe Manny is worthy and deserving enough to be in the ring with him. That's crazy of course. But that's him. He is entitled to his beliefs and choices. No matter what we say.

It is therefore incumbent for Manny to himself go down a bit from his own ivory tower and concede some concessions if he really wants to fight Floyd and prove that he is the better fighter.

But that foolish " call me anytime" and his announced intention to renew with Arum do not inspire hope and confidence as far as I am concerned about that fight happening anytime within the next two years.

Yep. The last excuse was that "Manny's past it" is kind of obsolete again so a new excuse is coming up. I hope its funnier this time around.

Will Mayweather accept the demands, or will he make demands of a fighter that he never has done for anyone else? (random blood testing)?

Mayweather wont do business with arum simple as that

Probably................................... an intelligent boxer, but businessman too. He won't take the chance for another year. Watch him sign quicky for someone else for Sept. He wants that 50-0 too.
