I want to compete for boxing but my parents don't want me to?

I have been training for a long time and all my coaches say to do it, but my parents don't want me to do it which is really annoying I'm 15 years old

well boxing is a very very dangerous profession so of course any person that doesn't share the same passion that you have for the sport is going to not be supportive about it... But ultimately it's your choice man. You could probably end up being successful like Mayweather, cotto, etc... or end up broke and possibly even with severe brain damage like Jerry Quarry, Meldrick Taylor.. That's the risk you have to be willing to take.... Personally if it's your passion and if you wouldn't pick any other profession over it, then I say go for it... Just make sure you take it seriously because boxing is no joke. also don't let your trainers influence you to much because their trainers so of course it benefits them if you become a professional fighter; professional fighters have to pay their trainers to train them for fights you know.

Listen to your parents. There is no guarantee that you'll be successful in boxing because only a few really make it big in this sport. Besides, a career in boxing usually lasts only as long as you're at the peak of your physical abilities and that would be around 5 years. If you've not invested your earnings properly, you'll be broke after that. Better get an education instead and work in the office.

I don't know where you live, but until you're 18, I think you should listen to your parents. If you really want to compete, take your parents to an actual fight - maybe that will convince them that there are adequate safety measures.

Just tell your parents

theres a referee in the ring, if anything goes wrong, the referee will stop the fight.

there are so many people who want to step in the ring, but don't have the opportunity to do so, or lack the confidence

I would take your parents advice. boxing is dangerous.
