What would your strategy be to beat Floyd Mayweather?

This is a fantastic topic to muse about, and I was wondering what you guys thought.

I'd like to hear some detailed-phase-by-phase strategies.

I'd employ Joe Frazier's strategy in fighting Muhammad Ali, i.e. keep on punching at the guy and hit him wherever you can, the arms, the shoulders, the hips, especially with Floyd's shoulder roll defense. You gotta bang at those shoulders to wear them out bring 'em down and get his head open.

Anyone who goes up against Floyd has to play to their strengths.

If, you're taller, make him be the one to come to you. Jab your way to victory. Most of the guys that were competitive against Floyd would be winning rounds where they threw a lot of jabs.

If you're a smaller, brawler type of fighter, then pour on the offense, and just keep hitting him. The head is harder to hit, so concentrate on body punches and wear him out.

If you're a boxer with no power, forget it. You have no chance against Floyd, because you will not be able to out-box him. Whereas the other two fighters I mentioned would bring Floyd out of his element, a boxer type would be playing into Floyd's strengths.

Clinch and hold if he got close. Jab if distant. Pin him against the ropes and swarm his body nonstop to slow him down then finish him off with a few uppercuts. Plan B. Change styles every round to avoid being predictable

round 1- run away

ditto rounds 2-11

round 12 cave his skull in with a cricket bat....serious answer evry boxer who has got half a chance to have a go at beating mayweather has been schooled, truth is there isnt a boxer out there who is good enoughto take mayweather whatever tactics are employed, pacquio is the only who might have come close, but pacquio has lost his edge and the fight wont happen, and if it does mayweather will do him

give him the opponent he doesn't want to fight, then that COWARD will lose

Use maidanas style for every round n every minute, but u need to be really fit to do that. Even fitter than an elite boxer. If u watched the fight, when maidana took his foot off the gas medal, that's when mayweather caught him. If u pressure mayweather n pin him against the ropes, no matter how good his reflexes are, he'll feel uncomfortable n will eventually get caught

just give him to pacquiao

Good question. I don't think any of today's boxers can beat Floyd. Pacquiao would have had the best chance about three years ago but even that's not a given. He still makes the same mistake he has always made.

Pacquiao leaves himself terribly off balance when he misses with a right hook. I don't think he can afford to do this against Mayweather. Some think I'm nuts when I say this but one fight who would have a great chance of beating Mayweather is a fight with whom Pacqiao is often compared. I don't see too many similarities between the two but I'd give Roberto Duran an excellent chance of defeating Mayweather.

.

Here's why. There's no doubt that Floyd can go 15 rounds, unlike most of today's fighters, who get winded after 10. However, much is often said of Floyd's movement. If we're talking the current version, he doesn't use his legs as often as he used to. Even in his prime, Floyd relied more on dodging or blocking than on moving.

.

Of course someone will bring up the No Mas fight, which is moot because, if you really believe that was the real Duran, stop reading here.

.

I don't buy that the Maidana fight was any "blueprint" (so tired of hearing that), to beat Floyd. However, it does give some insight on how a Duran fight would have unfolded.

.

People tend to think of Duran at his best at 135. He certainly was the beat there. However, it was lack of discipline that diminished his skills at welterweight, not age or any other reason. Duran actually grew into welterweight, just as Mayweather did. The difference is that he didn't have the discipline. But when he was motivated, as he was when he beat Leonard, few in history would beat him at 147.

.

Duran would lose to guys like Robinson and maybe Hearns, who actually primed at 154. If you view the Maidana fight and consider that Duran is a much better fighter in every way, you will see that Duran would likely defeat Mayweather.

.

Mayweather would also lose to Robinson, Hearns and Leonard. However, there aren't many in history who would beat him at 147 and I don't think any could do it today.

Someone has to hit Floyd on the point of the chin hard enough to knock him out.

Is need to be faster than floyd

This is a fantastic topic to muse about, and I was wondering what you guys thought.

I'd like to hear some detailed-phase-by-phase strategies.

It is actually quite easy. After watching Floyd vs. Judah, Floyd vs. Castillo, and Floyd vs. Oscar, there is a game plan that a boxer can use to win against Floyd. It is basically the same game plan a puncher would use against a boxer.

1. Double jab.

2. Feints.

3. Hit the body.

4. Cut off the ring.

5. Throw combinations.

6. Watch the counter right.

7. Pressure.

In and out. Flying left hooks and jabs. Run, make him chase. Take him out of his element of loving to be attacked and reserve energy defending. Thumb him in the eye. Screw up his person life outside of the ring, have a B seduce and fudge him before the fight. Have him tested for PED's and anykind of PED pain killers on his hand or body, try to break his hand at the top of your head. Thumb him in the eye, etc....etc...

Flying eagle's claw is the safest style, and then cat's claw.
