Why are people buying the Carl Froch lies in the buildup to he Groves rematch?

Agreed. One more thing to add to your points is something I thought about only recently and nobody seems to mention it, how much did their first fight take out of Froch? he took a tremendous amount of punishment and that is bound to have some effect. Some will say the same applies to Groves but he is 10 years younger than Froch and hasn't been in anywhere near as many wars as Froch. He must have eaten at least 20 clean right hands in that fight alone.

I don't even see this as 50/50, Groves is the superior boxer in all areas but Froch makes up for it with his all-time great chin, heart and endurance so i'm picking Groves to win on points.

I don't get why people bash Froch so much... I see it a lot here in this forum.. I don't give a **** what he has to say pre fight... Did you watch the super six? He placed second, and then went on to destroy Bute (a guy who didn't participate in the tournament but was still seen as the second best fighter in the division for whatever reason by many) afterwards. He's earned his stripes, and my respect. I don't care who wins the upcoming fight, but you have to understand that talk is just that... its talk.. Its hype. Boxers have promoted themselves through alter-egoism, brashness and pre fight ramblings since boxing's roots.. Its nothing new.

Fans tend to let a fighter's words pull at their heart strings. Don't get caught up in it, especially if you bet, because it will only lead you to think with your heart instead of your head, and that equates to being held up by your ankles and having money shaken out of your pockets.

If you think Groves wins, that's fine, but don't let some words said sway your thought process in regard to the matter at hand.

There's a biblical line about it: "Pride before the fall".

There not necessarily "lies" it's just his spin on the fight, some of which is bs. Froch will try to downplay the first 6 rounds and say ge wasnt at his best, groves has claimed he wasn't in trouble in the 9th and was keeping something in the tank for the last 3 rounds, which is also bs.

Okay Scott Gilfoid

"Groves at his best lost to the worst Carl Froch".. pure nonsense. Carl Froch has lied through his teeth yet again about the last fight. Carl Froch has promised something special this time.. but we all know he is one dimensional and we all know what he brings to the table.

How was he at his worst last fight? Did he lose a relative during camp? Was he skipping training? Was he and rob mccraken out in the pub instead? The fact is that Groves dominated him in many areas, and from that people denote that Froch must have been disadvantaged or hadn't trained right. In fact, Groves was the one who had a huge case going against his former trainer, who had no trainer for two whole weeks prior to the fight and than had to train with a new trainer only weeks before his first world title fight.

The other BS is that people are saying it can't get any better for Groves, when in fact he has gained the experience of boxing carl froch last time, plus the support of many fans and the confidence of flooring Froch, let alone having established a proper long term working relationship with his coach.

Next look at age, is Carl Froch at 36 really able to make huge adjustments to his style and training to be able to handle this hungry young lion?

My verdict: This is a 50/50 fight, Froch's hope is TKO which he will try and Groves.. well who knows what Groves will do, I very much doubt he (or any fighter) was at the peak of their career in their first world title fight. He can only improve
