Why exactly was Manny Pacquiao dominating against Juan Manuel Marquez before getting knocked out?

According to the official judges score cards Manny Pacquaio was ahead 47-46 at the time of the knockout which is only a point.

It was without question a great performance but when fights end before five rounds or even six rounds in some cases its really hard to get an accurate picture of the fight or what it would've turned out to be.

Juan Ma Marquez knocked Manny Pacqauio out because he managed to hit Pacman with a great "Right-Hand". I don't know if it'd say he " only going for the kill"...I think he just hit him with a shot that he's landed before and with Manny being off balance and unprepared we seen the result.

All closely-fought fights looked different before a knockout from the perspective of fans depending on which side they are rooting for..

Fans patronizing Pacquiao would say that he was administering a beating and on the way to scoring a win by decision or stoppage when Marquez got ":lucky". Marquez fans would say that after scoring the rare knockdown earlier in the third, Marquez was just biding his time and looking for the opportunity to land the Sunday punch and that included taking a beating and lulling Pacquiao to complacency and to committing mistake.

But whatever we say, whatever dissecting we do of the fight action and whatever second guessing we attempt to determine what's on their mind, nothing changes the fact that KO could happen in boxing anytime regardless of how great or seemingly impervious to punishment a fighter is/was. And, of course, the fact that JMM kayoed Pacquiao.

It was a close fight, but Marquez was getting hit a lot easier and was bloodied up gonig into the sixth round.

Marquez got hurt pretty bad by a right hand in the fifth round I think. Pacquiao was being aggressive, and even though Marquez was getting his counters and punches in, Pacquiao was landing significantly and easier than he was early.

It just seemed like Pacquiao was beginning to takeover big time, and then BOOM, homeboy dives headfirst into a right hand w/ his hands down.

Pacquiao has great offense, but it's his downfall against a guy like Marquez. He should've known better, dumb move on his part.

Marquez is a monster, I had him down by a point going into the sixth, but he just seemed to be getting the worst of it at that point. It was a violent and great fight after all. Pac wasn't "dominating", but it's like I said, the momentum seemed to be going in his favor until he got blasted.

I, like Marquez, felt he had been robbed a couple times and I think he was basically just looking to leave it out of the judges hands this time, regardless of however that tactic worked out for him.

He did not dominate JMM. All three fights were close.

Juan Manuel Marquez knocked Manny down in the third, and out in the sixth. It was truly a great victory for Marquez, probably the biggest of his career. However, besides the knockdown, why was Pacquiao beating Marquez before getting knocked out? I'm not taking anything away from Marquez, no way. He won fair and square. But this fight looked different before the knockout.

Was Marquez only going for the kill instead of counterpunching more like the first three fights? Was Pacquiao's head movement causing this? I want to know your thoughts.
