Would you still consider the heavyweight division to be "weak" if the Klitschkos weren't around?

The Klitscko brothers are about as dominant as any heavyweight champion (long term since Joe Louis) as far as Wlad the chink in his armor is a less than granite chin but the improvements that Manny Stewart rip implemented and his jab have made him into a dominant champion that I see no one beating in the current division-minus a punchers chance. Guys like Tyson Fury do not deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence never mind the same topic as either one of the Klitscko brothers as far as the rest they are solid fighters that just won't have the fire power or the durability to make it to the final bell with either of the K bros.

But to your question-Without the Klitscko brothers would the heavyweight division still be considered weak? I have to answer, yes it would be considered weak maybe not as weak but definitely weak due to the lack of any dominance by any single fighter consistently such as a prime Mike Tyson who just plowed through everyone until the Tokyo fight against James 'Buster' Douglas-Or of course Lennox Lewis who literally beat everyone he ever fought and was also the last real dominant heavyweight champion and intelligently got out of the sport when still on top of his game-(Some are convinced escaped with a win against a fighter V Klitscko that all 3 judges had winning the fight at the time of the stoppage/due to a canyon sized cut over his left eye and instead of giving him a rematch retired never to fight again)http://www.boxingscene.com/vitali-klitsc...

If you take the Klitschko Bros, they are worlds above and beyond everyone else, in a realm of their own. The heavyweight division has been extremely shallow for a VERY long time, for at least 15 years. Even when Lewis was on top, he was above and beyond everyone else, and gave Vitali his toughest challenge to date, so if you take these 3, they are all worlds above everyone else. The last time the HW division was fairly competitive was when we had a less than washed up Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis, Golota, Moorer, etc. The Klitschko bros are very good fighters, but their competition has been very weak, especially for Vitali who has been facing former cruiserweight champions half his size or complete nobodies ever since coming out of retirement in 2008

Americans say its weak because the only hope is Deontay Wilder. in the 90's and 80's the top 10 was filled with Americans. I feel the quality has dropped these last few years.

If the Klitschkos weren't around then people would probably say its stronger. In general people don't like their fighting style and are looking for ways to reduce their achievements. They do this by saying the division is weak when it isn't as weak as they make out.

I would consider it weaker. The Klitschkos are the only heavyweight worth watching for me. If they are able to dominate the division the way they do, it says a lot more about the other heavyweights than it does about them. It's not their job to make the fights competitive. Their job is to win and they continue to do that.

If you class deontay wilder a top heavy this shows how weak the division is.

Let's not kid ourselves. It's not about them being American, or them being from former enemy-states of our country; it's all about them being white. Do you see anyone mind about Cuban boxers, when Cuba was and still is one of our country's worse enemies? No and you know why? Cause most Cuban boxers are black. Do you think most boxing fans would be happy if the champ was someone like Tommy Morrison, Rocky Marciano or Jack Dempsey? Boxing just like basketball in this country, are considered urban or ethnic sports and there are even white brainwashed fans who believe that only blacks should dominate these sports. They don't like seeing dominant white athletes like the Klitschkos, Golovkin and Calzaghe dominate in these two sports. In this country it has always been about race. I watched Weidman vs Silva in a local bar with some good friends and you could tell that every black dude in the bar was cheering for Brazilian Silva; either openly or secretly.

What has happened lately is that more and more people realize that black and brown people can be just as racist as whites. I am married to a white woman from Puerto Rico and she should tell you some stories about racism and discrimination she has gone through in her life from her fellow black and brown Latinos.

Yeah

It would be non existent without the klitschko's/

THEIR WEAK TOO

Lets say the Klitschko brothers didn't exist and David Haye and Chris Arreola had the titles and had never fought the Klitschko brothers ,along with undefeated prospects Deontay Wilder ,Tyson Fury , Kubrat Pulev and Bryant Jennings. Would you still think the heavyweight division would be "weak" with no Klitschko brothers there to over shadow them?
