Is it to late to start boxing?

1. It's never to late to start boxing. I have a teacher who is 50 and still is boxing. When you are older than 30 I just wouldn't compete a career in boxing, but boxing training and sparring is always possible, as long as your trainer makes a special training which suits your grade of fitness.

2. I think you should change your boxing gym. A boxing gym without a ring is pretty useless, since sparring is almost the most important part of your training and sparring without a ring prepares you bad.

3. My trainer said that you have to train at least three times a week so that you can lose weight. Two workouts would be too little. When you are 240 pounds heavy and 7 feet 6 inches tall, your weight would be ok. And when you are small with such a weight, it doesn't depend on that. Butterbean was a ok boxer and was also overweight. Boxing has nothing to do with weight and it's really good for losing weight.

Go to boxinggyms.com and find other gyms in your area Now, to be serious, I'd start my conditioning routine tomorrow early. Start a roadwork conditioning program stating with1 mile and working it up to 3-5 miles 3 times a week with3 days in the gym, learning technique etc.Takes lots of discipline and dedication.

No one can really answer this for you other than yourself. If you have the determination to succeed then by all means you might, if you just want play around/win a few fights then nothing can stop you from trying it out. There are plenty of successful late starts found in just about every era. Basically, asking this question is pointless in the first place because if you're willing to drop boxing simply because members of a forum told so then it wouldn't be for you to begin with.

please pick as best answer thanks guys

2 days a week? No that's just a lazy a s s trainer. Find another one.

It's really all your decision. It's possible, but It's you who can make it possible.

Try going to another gym even if it costs more. It'll be worth it.

I always wanted to box, my parents always said they were going to sign me up but never did. Now since im 19 im thinking about signing up. I visited my local gym and he went over stuff with me but it looks like a bad gym. There wasnt a ring and they only have two class days a week. Should I go somewhere else? Is it good for me to try and box when I weigh 240 pounds? Will I lose weight with two workouts a week?
