Miguel Cotto

Robert Guerrero

Ricky Hatton

Victor Ortiz

Shane Mosely

Carlos Baldomir

1. De La Hoya (Bc he was at his technical prime before facing Mayweather imo)

2. Canelo (Toughest challenge for the 36 year old Mayweather; Young, heavy hands, technically skilled, fast)

3. Cotto (Nice game plan for the first quarter of match, provided challenge for Mayweather)

4. Marquez

5. Zab Judah (People tend to underestimate Judah because he is not as young as he used to be, but based off the first 3 rounds Judah did great against Mayweather. He has the physical attributes to beat him but nowhere near the knowledge to know what to do)

6. Mosley (due to the fact that he was out of prime)

7. Hatton

8. Ortiz

9. Guerrero

10. Baldomir

Ricky hatton

Oscar de LA hoya

Jua. Ma Marquez

Miguel cotto

Shane Mosley

Robert Guerrero

carlos baldomir

1. Marquez, even though Floyd showed up overweight

2. De La Hoya, even though he was 2-2, in his previous 4, lost a liver to B-hop, and was contemplating retirement.

3.Cotto- even though Margarito, and Pacquiao took him out before Floyd fought him, he was game.

4. Mosely - was 39 years old, way past prime.

5. Canelo - was too inexperienced, only big wins were a 41 yr old Mosely, and Trout, but had youth, and 0 losses

6. Zab Judah was coming in off a lost to Baldomir

7. Hatton overhyped, took a highlight reel KO

8. Guerrero

9. Ortiz

10. Baldomir

I like your list but I would move the hitman up a few places, by the time he got to fight Floyd he was an undefeated Two weight world champion and beat 5 reigning world champions in a row. A lot better opponent then an old Mosley.

Ricky Hatton) Undefeated, prime and top 10 p4p

Oscar De La Hoya) Beacuse it was at De La Hoya's weight.

Shane Mosley) Although he was way past his prime when he fought Floyd.

Saul Alvarez) Undefeated but hadn't really faced much top level competition.

Zab Judah) Good boxer but not a great boxer. Coming off a loss when Floyd beat him.

Miguel Cotto) Was a shaddow of the boxer he used to be when Floyd beat him

Juan Manuel Marquez) Best boxer off the lot, but was a lightweight when Floyd fought him at welterweight

Carlos Baldomir) Was unified welterweight champion, but was nothing more than a journeyman

Robert Guerrero) Average boxer who hadn't done anything at welterweight before Floyd picked him.

Victor Ortiz) Got his shot by beating overrated Berto. Done nothing before or since.

@Anon your list is decent but i think you give recent fighters too much credit.

Carlos Baldomir is no ATG but he had the WBC, IBO & IBA when he fought Floyd. He is the highest title-worthy opponent in Floyds resume, with that said he was never that great and he won his title from a long line of guys who had vacant titles after Trinidad, Mosley & Oscar went up in weight.
