Yes.nice question mate

i think he was overwhelmed by his own accomplishment to say the least.of course he beleived he would win going into the fight but every fighter has their doubts, so when he actually pulled it off he was elated and knew he had provd almost everyone wrong and so he expressed his feelings by repeating "i shook up the world!"

a truley great moment in sports history

He was confident enough to pick the round he would knock Liston out in and would have made good had Liston not quit on his stool the round before. He was a big underdog after Liston annihilated Patterson. Also know that Ali's style was not seen in the heavyweight division prior and no one though this skinny kid who boxed could beat the killer Liston and when he did he said he shook up the world because he did. Like when Douglas beat Tyson, it was a world sport and the heavyweight title was the most prestigious in all of sports so yea he shook up the world

He meant that no one had ever seen anyone as good in the ring as him in the history of boxing, and that he was rubbing it in everyone's face.

He also meant that as a seven to one underdog, and with all the press thinking he would lose, that he had achieved a sports miracle.

If you want to get the full picture, read this article....it is very interesting

No, Ali knew he could handle Liston. He was that confident.

no ... it meant that he thought others didn't think he could win ...

the "World" thought he couldn't win ... he shook that idea up
