Yeah, I see what you mean.
I honestly don't really care about Thurman. I definitely like to watch him fight, but in terms of a rooting interest I'm indifferent.
Thurman can definitely punch, we've known that for awhile. But he showed he can box a bit and maintain his gas for twelve rounds against Zaveck, which really impressed me. He did a good job of getting through a good fight w/ Diego and then taking the opportunity to finish him when it came up.
He's still up in the air to me though, so who knows? Right now I see Thurman being something like a better Andre Berto type.
Always exciting (and is gifted w/ his power), could grab an alphabet belt in one or two weightclasses, but he'll never really beat the best of the best.
I am not sold that he will be a great fighter . He is a good fighter with really good foot work. I don't know if you noticed in his last fight he has great foot work. What he lacks is real boxing skills like Austin Trout. Paulie would give him a real boxing lesson.I do like Thurman he brings excitement to the game people like him .I will bet on him until he runs into a boxer.
Thurman was a nobody to me till I saw him against Chavez. But Chavez I only knew was a champ that is it. And no I don't see Thurman doing anything special.
Me too, He keeps calling out Malinaggi that fight should be made. I think Thurman would get schooled personaly.
no,you are not the only one.
Diego, who's a solid domestic fighter, was out boxing Thurman and giving him fits. I had Diego up on the cards up until the first knock down. I give Thurman props for a beautiful body shot other than that Thurman didn't look that impressive IMO. It was only when a poorly conditioned Diego got gassed out when Thurman started to edge out rounds. The Thurmanator can punch but I don't see anything else that stands out.
