Personally, I have nothing against Ali... He really put boxing on the map. His era of boxing was considered the 'Golden heavyweight era' - I can support that statement.
Because Ali captured the imagination of the world, he became a living legend, he set the standard for all rookie boxers, both amateur and professional - Even to this day, all the best heavyweights are compared to him...
Because of Ali's unrivalled popularity, he became the face of boxing (and still carries that stigma to this day..), I feel that the heavyweights after him, had to fight their career's in his shadow..
Enter Larry Holmes..
Larry Holmes was never given the respect he deserved, he was even hated for beating a past his prime Ali... (Although he didn't unload on him at anytime - Remember, Holmes could have knocked him out at will, but he didn't!)
The more I studied Holmes, the more I understood his frustration and resentment... His career was outstanding, his boxing ability legendary, his boxing brain unmatched....The list goes on..
I have no gripe about Ali... But given the chance, I like to shine a torch for Larry Holmes.. Even my nephews know of Ali and Mike Tyson... I remind them of another all time great... The eastern assassin!
Like most respected contributors on this forum, I have favourite boxers I follow more than others...
But truth be told, I follow all boxers regardless of colour, race or creed.
i think we all just have our favourite fighters and styles ,when i was younger i hated ray leonard because he beat duran and leonard who i really liked then later hagler but now i would pick leonard as the best boxer i have ever seen .
i'm also not a massive ali fan which to some is a crime but the first fights i see of Ali was vs holmes and later the norton fights and i wasn't impressed at all if i'm honest ,Norton had Ali's number and i just couldn't see the big thing about Ali . later when i see the cleveland williams fight i see the real Ali but by then i found it hard to really get into Ali .
i find it hard not to defend Tyson when say blogbaba says he's rubbish but i guess we all have our own opinion and i might over rate Tyson because i grew up watching all his fights from before he was champ and honestly believe he would have a very good chance of beating any fighter that ever lived .
I hate floyd since he started a RACIST + below the belt comment to Pacquiao and all asians.. and his Floyd fans re-posted those comments and boldly enjoyed it..

The media think SRL will beat every fighter in our Era because he is a masterful technician. I disagree because everyone can lose. He is a great guy but people become biased when they hear the name Sugar. Nontheless, the media have a strange way of over clouding my judgement.
P.S. SRL was a great fighter in his Era.
It's just their opinions and thoughts. Not a fan of floyd or pac and don't favor one over the other.
