BOXING: IRON VS IRON! Prime Mike Vs. Klitschko! 15 rounds?

Have there been celebrated case in boxing where size and power alone beat speed, raw power and explosiveness?

Douglas-Tyson as well as Holyfield-Tyson and Lewis-Tyson were more size and power beating brute strength which was all that's left of Tyson when he aged and lost his sharpness due to inactivity and personal/domestic/legal problems..

Prime for prime, I would take the Tasmanian Devil-like Tyson over any or both Klitschkos by decision or KO.

It would have been an interesting bout.

Mike Tysons prime was in his youth, when he thought himself unbeatable. Mike Tyson was always a shot small heavyweight but he was a great swarmer in his prime.

On the other hand; Wladamir Klitschko age'd like fine whine; his prime was in his older days when he was more composed and learned the little tricks of the ring.

If Wladamir is intimidated he could be dropped several times in shock leading to a tko stoppage

But a prime Wladamir knew how to act. I see Wladamir using unpopular tactics, mostly consisting of clinches, to win a close decision.

Wladamir was allot bigger then Mike [like most of Mike's opponents] and Wladamir is smarter than most of Mike's foes.

Mike would probably be the fastest man Wladamir ever fought but his size and jab could neutralize this.

Dr Iron Fist is Vitali Klitschko. Wladimir is Dr Steel Hammer.

Vitali would beat Tyson. In his prime he had very good power, a superb jab, and an iron chin. Tyson wouldn't have been able to get past his jab to land his trade mark uppercuts. I'd pick Vitali to win by 8th round KO.

Plus both were on drugs so they would be on a level playing field in that respect

It would be an interesting bout.

At his prime, Tyson would be too much for either brother. It is true that Tyson struggled with awkward fighters and also pure boxers, but I think that a prime Tyson would simply be too much swarming power in the early rounds.

Some of it is luck, of course, as if Tyson connected early there would be trouble, but if he missed and they made it into the middle rounds, they might make it into a technical bout. But Tyson would still win.

Wladimir would beat Tyson easily just like Lennox Lewis did. Rich you can't KO someone you can't hit. Tyson would have to land first and I don't see this happening. Lennox didn't have the best chin either but he toyed with Tyson by using his immense size difference and jab. Look at their size difference and try to be realistic with your questions next time:

Klitschko by TKO in 9 rounds.

Prime Tyson just before Cus D'amato died would have definitely beat Wladimar. He would probably come out quick and go for the body and then k.o him near the later rounds and win most rounds. However if he didn't Wladimar would definitely win the later rounds.

I think Iron Mike would have blast Wlad to the body and then smashed him with a left hook after slipping something and would KO Wlad. You can't beat a prime Mike Tyson if you have a shaky chin.

Tyson by TKO RD 9

Tyson had better footwork, and was quicker. I think it would be a good fight. Whlad using his size and jab, as Tyson would try to swarm, and get on the inside. Whlad has a questionable chin. Tyson would eventually find it.

I think we only got a glimpse of a prime mike or close to what he would be like. Anyways, if klitschko was not intimidated, but frustrated mike then mike would be done for unless mike somehow kos klitschko

Tyson might catch Wladimir at some point. I don't see him beating Vitali.

Sweet Science fans,

Preface: disregard their eras. Each man in his prime.
