I think that Alvarez can dominate at Middleweight before going up to 168. Plus, even though Andre is one of the best, he still doesn't draw enough money for the risk at this time. I think a JCC Jr. fight would be big at 160, then stick around a few fight like with Quillin and Golovkin, then climb.
I don't buy that Mayweather is that much faster if at all then Alvarez. And Comparing Alvarez to Gatti is like comparing Rib eye and a hot dog. Alvarez is deceivingly fast and has a great defence.
If Alvarez wins I think he should clean up the middleweight division next. Martinez and Chavez Jr. should be doible but Quillin might be trouble. Lot's of possibilities. But Ward aint one of them.
Sell, As much as I loved Gatti as a fighter(R.I.P.), he had no defense unlike Alvarez, who had least utilizes some defense. Canelo is also a lot faster than you give him credit for. Alvarez may be no speed demon but he has enough speed blended with some power to greatly trouble Mayweather,
No. This fight will be more like Mayweather/ De La Hoya. Alvarez is faster and won't be a punching bag. He showed that he can be elusive vs. Trout. He will be somewhat elusive vs Floyd and he'll be able to.maintain his pace, unlike Oscar.
Sell I cant believe you are comparing Canelo to Gatti....I can see you never actually watch the fights
Mayweather might not beat down Alvarez like he did Gatti, because of weight difference, but his hand speed might be that much better, as we saw against Gatti.
We all know Canelo has been staying light for the possible big pay day fighting Mayweather. We all know Canelo is a big boy. I think after the fight, he needs to go after Martinez, JCC, and eventually move up and go for Andre Ward. BQ below.
BQ- After this fight, should Canelo start training for a run at Andre Ward?
