Only Desiree Washington and Mike Tyson will ever know the 100% truth. As far as evidence all they had was it would of been rough sex that does not prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
I agree with the earlier answer that Mike was "a crazy bastard" and he indeed deserved to be in the slammers. But yeah, I think he was wrongly convicted as how could there be rape when the woman voluntarily went up to Tyson's hotel room ALONE. She damned knew for sure what would happen next. Just my opinion.

even tho mike tyson was far from being mother teresa back then i do think he was wrongly convicted but he accepted to go to prison because he thought he deserved it according to what he said the evidence of him commiting that rape was a joke
I have to admit, Desiree Washington should have had more sense than to go up to Mike's room, but the truth is Mike raped her in spite of stupidity. No means no and he should have stopped when she said to. Mike wasn't wrongly convicted, he did it.
No..............With him fame and fortune at the time, the young lady probably went along with him, but when they say NO, it's NO and any fool should realize that regardless of their status, it doesn't give them the right to go forward. Now, if it was all a rouse, then he put himself in that situation. This is from the same guy that beat up old ladies after offering to carry their groceries Home for them, then once in their elevator, he'd knock their teeth out.
Rape conviction is like a weapon on a blind man's hand. It's not tough to prove but not even easy to get away. He just had a poor luck and rightly he deserved it pretty much.
Tyson was a crazy bastard,he probably deserved it.
