So as you can see he did indeed fight against top competition over a very long career.

Robinson, like Louis fought everyone, including bums.

At this time it was common to fight often, not just once or twice a year.

He fought all the contenders and people that were world champions when there was only one champion in each of 8 weight classes, not like today when there seems to be hundreds of world champions.

To insinuate that Robinson padded his record by fighting bums is not correct.

Every single fighter in history fights some bums their aren't but SO MANY top notch guys their arent 2 million ali's falling out of the sky for you to fight or nothing some will be top guys some wont be.. He fought Alot of top guys prolly all of em... if you beat all the top guys there's no body else for you to fight but guys who aren't.. 40 or 50 of them were quality opponents tho...

He definitely fought some guys who weren't that great, bit he also fought all-time greats like Henry Armstrong, Kid Gavilan (twice), Jake LaMotta (6 times), Rocky Graziano, Gene Fullmer and others.

Sugar Ray was a heavy bum abuser in the ring. I know back then some of the fights where televised sparring sessions, and they fought 4 and 5 times a month. But if we could break down his record, how many of his fights where actually credible? And how many of them where bums?
