If you could go back in time, what fight would you like to sit at ringside at?

Hello Toughguy! There are plenty of fights that I wish I was there at ringside to see. Some of these fights were not even televised, or no footage at all. A lot of these were fight of the years. Here are the fights.

Harry Greb W15 Gene Tunney in 1922. The fight of the year for this year, and I'm sure it was a great fight.

Harry Greb W15 Mickey Walker in 1925. Also the fight of the year this year, and I have really wanted to see Harry Greb fight.

Ceferino Garcia D10 Henry Armstong in 1940. Again, the fight of the year. Armstrong's attempt to win his fourth world title in four weight classes was stopped by Filipino fighter Ceferino Garcia.

Rocky Marciano TKO8 Joe Louis in 1951. It was not Joe Louis at his best, but surely a great win for Marciano still.

Muhammad Ali TKO3 Cleveland Williams in 1966. One of Ali's most pleasing performances in his prime.

Willie Pep W15 Sandy Saddler in 1949. Another fight of the year. Pep was a defensive master, so it's pretty surprising hes in a fight of the year, but I'm sure this was great.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. W15 Miguel Cotto in 2012. Only last year, so not too far back in time, but I ordered PPV and had a bunch of friends over, and it was a pretty good fight, and more of a brawl then you usually see in Mayweather fights.

Mickey Ward and Arturo Gatti trilogy. Ward took the first fight, Gatti took the last two, all were all out wars!

Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera trilogy. Another great trilogy between these two Mexican warriors that despised each other!

Gene Tunney W15 Jack Dempsey II in 1927. Also known as The Long Count Fight. Tunney, the Light Heavyweight champion, went up to Heavyweight and beat Jack Dempsey twice!

Joe Louis KO13 Billy Conn I in 1941. I've always loved Joe Louis, so I've always wanted to sit ringside at his fights. This would be a great one to watch.

Tony Zale KO6 Rocky Graziano I in 1946 and Rocky Graziano KO6 Tony Zale in 1947. Zale knocks outs Graziano in the fight of the year in the sixth round, and the next year, Graziano avenges it knocking out Zale in the same round in the fight of the year!

Jersey Joe Walcott KO7 Ezzard Charles III in 1951. Great trilogy, to top it off with the finale, which was probably the best fight.

Mike Tyson TKO4 Larry Holmes in 1988. Tyson in his prime quickly gained many fans, including me, because he was so explosive and exciting, and a knockout machine. Holmes was probably not at his best, but great victory for Tyson.

Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier trilogy. Probably one of the best, if not the best trilogy, in boxing history. My goodness. I'm sure that those ringside were definitely satisfied, and I wish I was ringside for all of these fights.

Diego Corrales KO10 Jose Luis Castillo I. An all out war. The second fight did not live up to the expectations, but the first fight was surely amazing.

Sir, there were so many great fights in boxing history that I wish I was ringside watching, but it would probably take a whole day putting them down. I wish I were ringside for all of the great fights!

I live in Quezon city Philippines and whenever i pass by the Araneta Coliseum, there's one that always comes to mind -The Thrilla in Manila. I was born too way late for the bout. I walked down the dome, ate and shopped in Ali mall. I cant help but think, Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier had been on the very same ground i was standing in. Two legends who fought and brought each other's best in the ring and gave us the greatest fight ever. It cant get any better than that.

If you could go back in time, what fight would you like to sit at ringside at?

Definitely, Ali vs Frazier III. Man, that was close. If I've been born 10 years earlier, id be at ringside

Wow. This question nearly provoked a full sensory overload. My mind goes haywire trying to settle on one fight. I was having a conversation with a friend about a month ago where a question like this came up and the first thing I thought was Corrales-Castillo 1, so I'll go ahead and stick with that.

That fight in particular has a special little place in my heart all its own. It was amazing.. That fight had everything.. So many things happened in that one fight.. As a boxing fan, I feel blessed to have seen it when it happened, and been on the edge of my seat for the entirety of the event. This is one of those rare fights that will draw up emotions from even the most stoic fight fans..and different ones at that, from round to round. I was just in awe of the whole event, and the culmination, the tenth round.. It was like something out of a movie. I could talk about that fight for hours and not run out of things to say. It was that special, and it bolstered my belief that boxing is the greatest sport on the planet. Nowhere else but in a ring do you see the kind of heart, and power of will that is as moving and awe inspiring.

The crowd was just electric.. Makes your hair stand on end.

That's my pick, and I envy those who were able to sit ringside and fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of it all. I think I'll have to sit and re-watch that sometime soon.

1. Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez, all four fights

2. Sugar Ray Leonard vs Marvin Hagler 1987

3. Sugar Ray Leonard vs Thomas Hearns 1981

4. Lennox Lewis vs Mike Tyson 2002

5. Oscar De La Hoya vs Ike Quartey 1999

6. Oscar De La Hoya vs Pernell Whitaker 1997

7. Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield The Bite Fight 1997

8. Mike Tyson vs Trevor Berbick 1986

Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier

The first Ali versus Frazier fight.

My answer will always be the fight of the century because of it's magnitude in terms of media coverage involved and also because of how it was able to divide the boxing world both politically and socially

if i could pick another it would probably be the rumble in the jungle because imo that was the fight that most sealed ali's legendary status and i would have loved to have been there to see it and feel the electricity in the crowd

Chavez vs Taylor

Pryor vs Arguello

Also would have love to seen Tyson in the 80's. The atmosphere in the arena before/during a Tyson fight seemed electric, would have liked to experience that in person.

Ali vs Liston 2

On the opposite side of the ring to where the camera filmed it I would like my seat, so I can get the perfect view of the "phantom punch." It did land flush on the jaw but I would like to put my own mind to rest that Liston did not take a dive, and just to watch one of the greatest moments in the history of boxing, even thought it didn't last long.

i would watch the 2 greatest ever fighters trading blows .. sugar ray robinson vs henry armstrong ...

armstrong was past it but what a fight .another would be when ray robinson fought willie pep ,it was in someones front room or shop infront of a hand full of people ,now that would be something to remember

Hagler vs Hearns.

Any of the Charles-Moore fights.

Ali v. Frazier.

I would like to watch a fight between 2 gladiators.

ali vs. foreman I watched it as a little boy and remember ali hitting him so hard you could see the sweat fly from foreman's face like little beads.
