U could say he is 1 and 2 in his last three fights.the Cuban guy got robbed.but arum is doing the right thing. Manny is the cash cow. I am surprised that brandon rios ( I know bob arum is his promoter too) team let him take the fight! Rios alvarado 2 was an all out war and they just fought. Then u move up without a tune up fight at welterweight and take on manny recipe for diaster. The have to be hoping manny will turn into roy jones jr. Rios is a pretty big puncher, probably harder hitting than Alvarado, so dunno where you are getting that this is a safety first option.

Also, Rios was drained at 135 and still finds it hard to make weight now, so was obviously going to make the move up at some point. Pac isn't exactly a giant welter, Rios will probably outweigh him on fight night.

Whatever, it's a good gauge to see how much Pac has left. Not a disgrace for a comeback fight.

that's not cherry picking it's looking after your fighter manny has been ko'd in his last fight so roach needs to bring manny back with a fighter like Rios who will trade with manny and produce an exciting fight . as for not being a welter well neither is manny i bet rios weighs more come fight night .

Pac is not even a welter nor a light welter... his body frame is suit for light weight weight division.

Both Freddie Roach and Mannys management have said they want Rios BECAUSE he is more hittable, and by fighting him they can keep Manny in the top ten without risking Manny too much and snap his losing streak (which has been going on since 2010 I may add).

Rios isnt even a real welter...hes light Welter. So they arent even looking for competition anymore, they are looking for people they THINK he can beat (and hope that Brandon doesnt transfer up to welter well).
