Rocky marciano the best heavyweight of all time?

Rocky Marciano, for me then until now is undisputedly the best and the most popular "UNDEFEATED" boxer of all time - taking into account the ff: factors of the golden era of boxing -

* 15-rounder matches

* boxing gloves of yesteryears were less enhanced

* Rocky's a toe-to-toe fighting athlete

* Rocky has unbelievable stamina

* he is known for fighting while bloodied

for Rocky's distinction as the Best HW of All Time, WILL BE HEAVILY "contestable" by many distinguished sports boxing historians and aficionados. Therefore, i must say, stand and affirmatively confirm him as:

One of the Bests of All Time (note: no distinction of division, it maybe HW or any),

or One of the Best Fighters of All Time...

....to DISPERSE ANY ARGUMENT TO THIS EFFECT. it is just SOLIDLY FAIR AND FACTUAL.

...Fact is, Rocky is not a "running" funny guy inside the ring - he always GIVE HIS ALL, for the good of boxing - one that is to be emulated by any boxing athlete then, and now.

Yes hands down Rocky Marciano was the Greatest of all time. Muhammad Ali was good, but Marciano was the Best, even Ali said it would've been a close fight and that Marciano was better than Joe Frazier and Frazier beat Ali so there go. Rocky Marciano was the Great Heavyweight of all time!

Marciano was indeed a great Heavyweight but I wouldn't go too far saying he's the greatest of all time. He beat great fighters that were PAST their peaks(Not that it's his fault but at least he faced the best available competition of his era). Rocky certainly does punch very hard for his size but realistically, he doesn't hit as hard as other big punchers such as George Foreman, Sonny Liston, Mike Tyson, etc. but he certainly did make the best use of his overall power and other abilities. What really made Rocky Marciano a great fighter was his intense work ethnic and tenacity, not his undefeated record.

Hardly.....Fought guys way past their prime.Took 13 rounds to beat a 38 year old champ. Fought Joe Louis when Louis was way past his prime having retired and then needing to comeback to fight for back taxes. Ezzard Charles, a puffed up light heavy gave Marciano fits. Thee are so many heavyweights that would have beat Marciano IMo, bu tko stoppage on cuts or decision. Yes, Marciano was tough, undefeated, but you really must look at who he fought and at what stage of their career. In the top 10, but # 1, never.

he was great but not the greatest and when ali fought holmes he was past his best and he was also not as good as when he fought frazier but he was closer to his prime then i think he would have had an easier time beating joe if he was ali of his prime and floyd patterson who is much faster than marciano and sonny liston could not lay on glove on ali what makes you think that marciano would?

Larry Holme's would have beaten Marciano.

so would Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, and George Foreman

Marciano was good, but Muhammad Ali is the best heavyweight of all time.

Rocky Marcia - NO

is he number one no but hes in the top ten

he did beat great fighters like

Joe Louis [and did retire him] and he did only have 3 loses after he was coming off a 7 fight winning strike

Jersey Joe Walcott [a war veteran that had very fast hand speed] he retired him as well after 2 loses to rocky

Ezzard Charles [another war veteran that beat a lot of talent] he also beat Joe louis

archie moore [a very good fighter with great foot work]with over 200 fights

know i know what your saying what about ali or tyson

well people see rocky as a small guy he was 5'11 190 that knocked out joe louis that was 6'2 220 and jersey that was 6'1 210

which ali was 6'3 225 as well and didnt do good with fighter that were brawlers like frazier,and larry homes .and never throw a body punch.

[he could take a punch but rocky is ranked the 2nd hardest puncher of all time and has the highest ko rate of all time]
