Thanks for the link and interesting question sir. I will answer this later on today. I believe that everyone can mostly agree with the choice of Joe Frazier as having the best left hook of all time as that was what he was really famous for and of course Robinson had a deadly left hook as he displayed against Fullmer and Patterson as he displayed vs Johansson a few times. Bo Foster had a deadly left hook too and put more than a few opponents to sleep with it and who could ever forget Cooney and that left hook of his which f course was no match vs the jab of Larry Holmes but still devastating nonetheless. And Tyson also had a deadly left hook as well without a doubt so this was an interesting article but it did leave out some fighters that should have made the list most notably J.C Chavez who had one of the all time greatest left hooks in boxing history.
I just remember all if not most of the fighters from my native Philippines who became world junior lightweight champions from Flash Elorde to Rene Barrientos to Ben Villaflor to Rolando Navarette to Manny Pacquiao are left handers and deadly with their left hooks. Even Michael Farenas who is campaigning at 130 lbs. and has faced and almost pull the rugs from under world champions Takashi Uchiyama and Yuri Gamboa is a deadly lefty.
I just wonder why no Filipino or Asian in that list and almost none fighting in the lower weights?
Joe Frazier is the right choice for number one. But the best hook I have ever seen was when Palamino knocked out Dave "Boy" Green in round eleven of their world title fight. Not sure if it was a right or left hook but certainly the most crisp delivery of a hook I have ever seen.
of course when there are only ten places on a list like this there is bound to be controversy over some guys who are not in it.would you change anything?
