Who's the fastest boxer to ever live?

I'm not talking about who's the fastest for their size, I'm talking about who has the fastest raw speed. Who has the fastest straight punch/jab?

If your answering not by size but raw speed then anyone who says Jones Jr or Ali doesn't have a clue.

It will be someone below lightweight, possibly Flyweight, and the greatest Flyweight ever was jimmy wilde. He struggled to make over 100lbs but would ko people 40 pounds heavier, not with power but with combos so fast they just couldn't see the punches coming. I can't say for definite if he was the quickest as there is no footage of him in his prime, but they say speed kills and he used his amazing hand speed to knock out welterweights for fun. (something a 154lbs Mayweather isn't able to do)

It's difficult to answer this question but I'll throw two hats in the ring. I'm sure others will join in with their choices but I think Meldrick Taylor and Roy Jones Jr. were the fastest boxers ever.

.

When it comes to speed, some boxers differ from others and speed can also be broken down to single punches. Some guys have faster jabs than others, faster hooks, etc. For example, while I rank Taylor and Jones at the top, Hector Camacho had a faster jab than both of them. His symmetrical balance allowed him to shoot his jab with little concern of it being blocked.

.

Taylor didn't have any single punch that was any faster than others.

No One could throw a "Quadruple left hook" the way Jones could.

.

If you look at Taylor's fight with Chavez, although he lost, he threw many 6-punch combinations. Look at the way Roy Jones Jr. destroy Bryant Brannon, landing several shots WHILE Brannon was falling to the canvas. There are other examples.

.

Just get a hold of the films. I doubt you'll find a faster fighter than Taylor or Jones.

Meldrick Taylor

There's no way to be sure but some fast fighters throughout history include;

Meldick Taylor;

Willie Pep and Floyd Patterson.

the lighter the weight the faster they can..

the heavier the weight is the slower..

roy jones jr easy.
