Why aren't boxing fans getting angry over the fact that the best fights are all being blocked?

I don't know about other people but i am angry at that fact.

& the $hit about it is the excuses they make.

Fighters breach network contracts all the time so most use the promoters as an excuse; ''we can't do business with Golden Boy &/or Bob Arum'' yet those same promoters don't put their best against the best in K2 promotions or other promoters like GGG, Kovalev, etc.

GB has been hesitant to make Wilder a top contender for the real world titles and they waited until Vitali retired. Klitschko's don't have a contract with HBO or ShowTime, they fight in whichever they please, and K2 has nothing to do with Bob Arum.

SMH

There is only one way to stop it.

1 world title per division.

Boxers and promoters sell tickets under the falsehood of being champions and are content to hold any version and claim multiple division champion status etc from it.

Most "fans" buy into this.

If we have 1 world champion, that champion will be recognised properly.

If someone wants that recognition, they cant get it unless they fight him and thus cant duck him.

If he wants to keep thst position, he cant do it unless he fights his main challengers. If he ducks a mandatory, fans will know why and he will lose his title and recognition (and therefore money).

Until we get 1 division, 1 champion, we will miss out on top fights.

I would like to see fans boycott ppv and ticket purchase of any title fights where a champion isnt unifying his title with another or already undisputed until we have only 1 champion per weight.

Make WBC WBO WBA & IBF champs all unify in a semi final & final, then dissolve the titles to 1.

If only

The thing is boxing is nowhere near as big an audience draw as they were up until 1990 or so. The US public doesn't care all that much because most of the best US fighters go in to MMA instead of boxing

I am fkng angry Rich...

Sure, a lot of fans are upset about it. But hey, what can they do? They're just fans... :)

Of course we're angry. Yet they don't care what fans want.

Some fights never took place, there are many reasons, even before networks were invented.

there are lots of reasons some fights do go off, and we usually don't know the real reason.

It is irritating but it has always been this way.

Because like Roger says most boxing fans "don't know sh*t about boxing". Almost every fight now is a mismatch, the best don't fight the best.

I still love boxing and always will but its so annoying.

List of best possible match ups in each division currently impossible due to bullshit network rivalry:

Pacquiao vs Mayweather

Kovalev vs Stevenson

Hopkins vs Andre Ward

Kovalev vs Hopkins

Golovkin vs Quillin

Provodnikov vs Garcia

Provodnikov vs Matthysse

Provo vs Herrera 2

Bradley vs Mayweather

Thurman vs JMM

etc etc.

Also within Goldenboy loads of match ups are being blocked due the need to keep "name" fighters on a good run. Fights like Garcia vs Herrera 2, Mayweather vs Lara. The only explanation given is also "it's a binnis doe".
