Interesting FACT; Floyd Mayweather only has 3 title defenses at 147lbs?

Jose Napoles, Felix Trinidad and Oscar Dela Hoya's welterweight resumes completely destroy Mayweather's.

The reason Floyd does not have many title defenses at 147 is that he fights 2 times a year and then he fought 3 times at 154 in that time for titles there too.

Does it matter? The main objectives of fighters and champions today amidst the proliferation of so-called world sanctioning bodies and their so-called world titles is to win as many belts as possible to unify the championships. While Manny is busy defending his 1/4 share of the welterweight championship Floyd is busy consolidating his claim in the other 3/4 pending any final unification fight.

Guerrero's prior two fights were at welterweight and Maidana vs Devon was at 147 lbs, he got outboxed but not destroyed.

You just anwered it right Ray. "In his other fights at 147lbs he either fought one of the many title holders, or vacated his belt because he disagreed with having to fight certain mandatory challengers. "

At least he did. By the way Fraud acted lately he's not to defend titles if the azz contending for it is a beast like Pac.

Belts dont mean jack.

Mayweather won the lineal title, so Manny's is a false version.

Mayweather currently holds 147 and 154 Ring titles.

Manny has none.

Thoughts?

He has a title defense of the IBO against Zab Judah but that's not a world title.

He defended the WBC once, he vacated it so that eventually Ortiz could get it [so he beat Ortiz, who because of this became a world champion].

He then defended the title against Guerrero [who 3 fights prior was a lightweight] and Maidana [who only 2 years ago got destroyed at 140lbs].

Those are Mayweathers 3 title defenses at 147lbs. In his other fights at 147lbs he either fought one of the many title holders, or vacated his belt because he disagreed with having to fight certain mandatory challengers.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been in welterweight division since 2005.

Even Manny Pacquiao, who only recently went to welterweight, has more title defenses than Mayweather.
