6 fights for Mayweather to cement his legacy?

Broner isn't stupid enough to jump up 3 divisions and fight the best fighter in the world. Floyd and Broner will never fight and there's no reason they should, Broner is still largely untested. Martinez would be great to see but he's too old and incapable of making the catchweight he and Floyd would have to fight at.

I'd say 5 fights that would cement his legacy as an all time great are:

1.) Pacquiao -- even though I believe that moment passed and Pac puts himself at serious risk.

2.) Canelo Alvarez -- I believe he's too much for Trout.

3.) Gennady Golovkin -- Very solid fighter whose power alone would give legitimacy to anyone who beats him...and no one has.

4.) JMM -- Styles make fights and Marquez is overmatched here but it's the only welterweight out there I feel fans wouldn't come down on Floyd for taking. Alexander is ranked 2nd (IBO) and we all saw how people reacted there.

5.) Bradley -- Just because he's IBO's #1 welterweight, I don't like him, fans don't like him, and we'd all like to see him get his big melon head slapped around.

At 43 and 0 Mayweather doesn't need to fight anyone to cement his legacy. BUT if he were to fight and win 6 more times after his fight with Robert Guerrero his legacy would be stamped in Titanium as the best fighter that ever laced them up. There are exactly 6 boxers that would do it too.

Manny Pacquiao

Tim Bradley

Saul Alvarez

Austin Trout (as long as Trout can escape Alvarez without being KO'd)

Sergio Martinez

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Beating those 6 fighters and Guerrero would leave Mayweather with a 50 and 0 record and a resume that could never be questioned, and leave Floyd Money Mayweather as the best pound for pound fighter that ever lived.

I think the best fights for Floyd are

1) Guerrero, which is a done deal

2) Alvarez...The date is a Mexican holiday and if Alvarez can get past Trout and remain undefeated on Floyd's undercard...he will be the best opponent. If not, then Trout (also a young undefeated champion).

3) Malinaggi...unification of Welterweight titles or

4) The Brook/ Alexander winner...also a unification about. If it's Brook it would be very appealing because Brook would be a young undefeated champion, who would probably have a great live gate in Britian.

5) Cotto II...he said he is doing 3 more fights and retiring...Floyd would be a great fight...and both are great draws.

6) Martinez...the Middleweight champ would be an awesome last challenge

You have a good list but here is my list I don't think Mayweather needs any of these guys to cement his legacy he has already done that.

1.Adrian Broner

2.Martinez

3.Trout

4.Pacquiao

5.Rios

I know this is asking a lot but there are a lot of traps in these match ups. You have Marquez again Mayweather would beat him worse because he would be slower than he was in there first fight.Believe it or no the Pacquiau fight is the easiest of them all. You know something if Floyd beat all these guys the same day it would not be enough for some fools on here.

I think Floyd has a pretty solid legacy if he retired tomorrow, but there still seems to be something missing to really cement him as not only an ATG boxer, but a fighter as well.

Being realistic, because of the cold war with Top Rank, I think the following would be a great 6-fight run for Floyd to retire on:

1.) Guerrero

2.) Alvarez/Trout winner. Alvarez is definitely the fight that is shaping up next for Floyd. I'm surprised GB is risking Alvarez's 0 against such a skilled, dangerous opponent in Trout with such a lucrative fight with Mayweather on the rise. This fight would be a HUGE sale.

3.) Alexander/Brook-Khan/Garcia II winner. Mayweather said he really loves England, and enjoys a huge fanbase in London. I think he would love for Khan to put himself in even the slightest position to justify a fight with him.

4.) Gamboa. By now, Gamboa hopefully will at least be established as a 140 pound fighter, or maybe even had a fight or two @ WW. With 50 cent being his promotor, this shouldn't be a hard fight to make (I think they're still really good friends, and a lot of the **** talk was just banter to stir things up).

5.) Pacquiao. Even with what happened to Pacquiao, I think this fight could easily rebuild a lot of its luster should Pacquiao beat Marquez in their 5th fight (which I think he can). By this point, I can see Pac wanting to retire, and Floyd, Golden Boy, Pacquiao and Arum can work something out.

6.) ??? Adrien Broner, maybe? Should Broner be able to remain undefeated until this point? I can't see any boxer aside from possibly Broner at this point being able to bring enough hype, attention, and money to justfiy Floyd fighting. Part of me doubts this happening, because Haymon wouldn't want to risk Broner. However, as we've seen, if you want to build a PPV-calibre fighter, they must fight a PPV calibre fighter. Chavez to Oscar; Oscar to Floyd, and Oscar to Pacquiao. So I think there might just be too much money at this point to stop this fight from happening.

Here are my 5 in no order and also fights I can see happening

1. Trout-Canelo winner

2. Amir Khan (if he can continue to bounce back)

3. Marquez

4. Bradley (not a popular choice but I can see it happening)

5. If Kell Brook wins I can see this fight happening in the UK (Floyd has said he would love to fight in the UK)

Pacman, for gods sake if it doesn't happen then fighters for generations to come will think they can just avoid the biggest fighter second to them and still be successful. Even if it's a slower older Pac, I'd still buy the fight just to see how it goes.

But I don't really mind who he faces, I would like to see one last giant Floyd PPV with Canelo or Martinez, but they are both bigger than him. He has nothing to prove against Marquez but if he beats him again then I'll still think he faced a strong fighter.

And to see him fight in Britain would be great, maybe not even against a British fighter because then the roaring crowd would probably be on his side. But Brook would Great, not Khan, not after his last few fights. It'll feel like he picked a fighter when he's down, but Maybe if Khan beats a very strong opponent.

well,

you cant count HBO boxers

much more toprank fighters

that's how he fulfills his plan never to fight strong champs no more so he can retire healthy...

jump to a lesser network called showtime...

so:

forget pacquiao

forget marquez

rioz too

or even bradley

6 times ... so that means 6 more YEARS...

COZ

Mayweather Fights only ONCE a year....

Mayweather's legacy will be that he dodged the big fighters in their prime.

Presuming that Floyd will fight 6 more times then retire, who, at this current moment in time, are the six best possible opponents that Floyd could face?

I'm not talking about boxers with styles that would make a good fight with Floyd or may pose him a problem. I would like to know who you think are the boxers that if Floyd faces them before he retires, you would hold your hands up and say, fair play to Floyd, he beat the best.

We know his first opponent will be Guerrero, so for me the next five to cement his legacy would be......

Martinez

Pacquiao

Trout vs Alvarez winner (presuming they fight)

Marquez ( now he's grown into welterweight)

Alexander vs Brook winner ( I can see the winner of this picking up more titles)

So what are your thoughts?
