I expect to see head movement and accurate combinations. He have to fight smart because Angulo is best at pressuring his opponents.
AS in the Trout fight, Canelo Alvarez showed that he still has difficulties fighting against mobile, fast and smart boxer especially one who has an excellent defense as Mayweather. Canelo managed to beat Trout because the American showed more eagerness to trade with him allowing the Mexican to land more that even allowed him to score a decisive knockdown.
I don't think Angulo is the guy for Canelo to show what he has learned from the Mayweather fight because of the vast difference in their quality and style of fighting.
Canelo would be well at home projecting his physical strength and punching power against a fellow bomber as Angulo.
I think though that Canelo has to hone further his boxing skills to prepare for fighters as Erislandy Lara and Carlos Molina who are both wily boxers.
He didn't really do anything wrong against Mayweather. Some say he fought the wrong fight but i disagree and say he fought his usual fight, which wasn't well suited for a master boxer like Mayweather. Canelo is a very good boxer-puncher who is economical and likes to pick his shots carefully, he even loses rounds on purpose like Mosley round 1 and a couple in the Alfonso Gomez fight until he feels comfortable to let it rip.
If he was to do something that he didn't do against Mayweather it would be cutting off the ring and throwing in more volume. However, I doubt this is a very good idea against a dangerous fighter liker Angulo. He should just fight his normal fight and he should get a comfortable win and look impressive.
Canelo has a major problem that is common with fighter who lack amateur background, they suffer from ring-identity crisis. They dont know weather there the boxers or the pressure fighter.
Canelo is not a consistent fighter, he thinks more of his boxing abilty than is the case in reality at the same time he cant cut off the ring and put pressure. He cant do 2 things at once, hes either in an offensive gear or a defensive gear.
Nothing. He fought well against Floyd. The problem was that it was Floyd. Besides, Angulo offers nothing for Canelo to show what he has learned. All I want to see is confidence. I want to see him bounce back like a true champion, unlike Bute.
Him box the living sh*t out of Angulo. Alvarez will be using his head movement, counter punching and potshots. And of course power. And show his will to fight again.
Half decent footwork and movement.
He just plants his feet and throws combos/counters. A slick mover gives him fits. It's why he's avoiding Lara
